The Simpsons Episode: Loan-a-Lisa (NEW) "Grampa gives each family member a portion of his savings; Lisa worries that Nelson's instant success with a new business venture might lure him away from continuing his education." * NEW
I had mixed feelings on the episode. For every inspired moment like the "To Catch a Credit-Whore" bit there were one to two jokes that fell absolutely flat. Then again, that's how I feel about most of the new ones. There were subtle hints at the end that Lisa and Nelson were going to hook up again. I'm curious to see if it will last.
I agree. They should age the characters by five years. The grown-ups won't change much, we'd get a 5 year old Maggie, a 13 year old Lisa and a 15 year old Bart and THAT could be very funny.
I dunno; maybe not a 5-year jump - but perhaps starting with Season 23 they could do like SP and each year they add a year (like, gasp, real life), so starting with season 23; Maggie would be 1, Lisa would be 9, and Bart would be 11. Dunno if they'd need to do with the grownups; but at least the students/kids.
100% disagree with aging the kids. They should stay the same to keep the "timeless" quality. Yeah, it occasionally causes continuity problems (Homer is 38 and went to high school in the 70s? Bart was born in 1980 yet in "That 90s Show" Homer and Marge are unmarried and childless, etc) but The Simpsons has always had a "floating timeline" and I see no reason to change it now. You can't just change classic characters like that.
8-8:30PM | FOX The Simpsons "Lisa gets a gig coaching Bart's Little League team so she can have extracurricular activities for her college applications."
That was quite possibly one of the darkest things I've ever seen, and I'm really surprised FOX let them get away with it.
Wow; I can't believe it appears I'm the only one who didn't find it that dark or even surprising that the Simpsons aired it; to be honest I had never heard of Banksy or would have known they had 'him' do the couch gag or anything about it/him until I saw it on Yahoo news today around 10AM.
Yea; I can see how some of the depictions (like the dolphin head and the somber/Schindler's List esque music) are a bit dark; but Simpsons has done such stuff before. Bart killing the birds; the lizards eating the birds, etc, etc.
The Simpsons Episode: Lisa Simpson, This Isn't Your Life (NEW) Fearing that she will end up like Marge, Lisa pledges to focus solely on her academics and not get distracted by other things; Bart puts Nelson in his place and unintentionally earns the title of school bully. * NEW 8:00 - 8:30 PM FOX
The Simpsons was renewed for a 23rd season the other day. This will bring it past 500 episodes. The only 2 prime-time shows to have more were Lassie (588) and Gunsmoke (635).
As the contract stands now; if it ends exactly where this contract ends - they'd have a total of 515 episodes.
The Simpsons Episode: How Munched Is That Birdie in the Window? (NEW) After Bart nurses an injured bird back to health, Homer enters it in a race. * NEW 8:00 - 8:30 PM FOX
The Simpsons Episode: Donnie Fatso (NEW) "Homer ends up in the Springfield penitentiary after getting caught bribing an official; an FBI investigator (Jon Hamm) offers Homer a way to reduce his jail time." * NEW 8:00 - 8:30 PM FOX
Pretty good episode. I always like the "replace dead guy with new guy who morphs into dead guy" bit they end up using.
Sunday, Feb. 13 The Simpsons Episode: The Blue and the Gray (NEW) "Moe attends a seminar in hope of gaining more confidence with women; Marge makes a change after discovering her gray hair." * NEW 8:00 - 8:30 PM FOX
The Simpsons Episode: A Midsummer's Nice Dream (NEW) When Cheech and Chong stop in Springfield while on their reunion tour, Homer impresses Cheech so much he asks him to replace Chong; Principal Skinner forms a new comedy team with Chong; Marge tries to help a hoarder. * NEW 8:00 - 8:30 PM FOX
The episode from this week was pretty good. "Bart- take the controls!" "What video game is this like?" "Blimp Assassin 3!" "For Wii or Xbox?" "Xbox!" "Original or 360?" "FLY THE BLIMP, YOU SPOILED KID!"
