Is anyone else fed up with channel 10 and the way they cut off the Simpsons for ad breaks?
    I mean just now:
    Lenny"What did he just say?"
Carl"I dunno, something about being..." and then an ad break.

It happens all the time! all the jokes before ads get cut off and it sucks!

yeah, I know it's just a TV show, but when it's one of the only ones you watch, and it's cut for an ad with singing tampons, I'm sorry, but that stinks.

    Thank you for your time.

    EDIT: Forget it, again.

After recieving PMs from some people, and coming back anyway, having a flurry of PMs exchanged between myself, and your RSA chatbot, I see that the admins and their cave troll don't actually want anyone posting in this forum, as flaming, admins passing on private details such as email addresses onto porn spammers, and childish finger pointing at alleged double entendres by complete idiots with nothing better to do.
I see this is a waste of time, everyone else seems totally put off posting here anyway.

    Now I see why.

    I HEAR YA BRO!!!!
I was thinking of sending a letter to TEN about this [he he he]
It really gets on my nerves! :(

And even worse, they actually cut entire scenes outta of the episodes.

I also know what your talking about. WIN TV down here in Bunbury does the exact same thing. Cutting off conversations and jokes. It's annoying :(

I've noticed it with other shows to but it's certainly annoying with the Simpsons. It seems to happen at least a couple of times in each episode they show.

lol, its not half as bad as GWN used to be.. they did a screen out to the advert break, and everytime u could hear stuff happening while the screen was up for a good 4-5 seconds.. missed sooo much stuff with that happening..

and yer, petition channel 10 to get it right ;)

It's worse when they cut to breaks in live sports telecasts. Wouldn't you agree, Sh?

Fnah, I only watch motor racing, one of the very few sports I can't turn off the tv, go out and do for real if I'm in the mood.

But hey, if you need my approval to think something, you have it. :)

Wedge can you please not hassle the new people, we have lost enough new blood from the boards recently.... [face_plain] and frankly you should know better.

This isn't the Simpsons, but it's kinda similar stuff...

A coupla years ago, when 'The Crow' was first on TV they were using a scene from the movie as a kinda 'fade to ads' scene... It was the one where Eric Draven had just lit the gas on fire and it was starting to burn into the crow emblem. Well, they used that for the ad break and when that actual scene came on, it went to an ad break. You never even got to see it happen in the movie! It didn't completely burn all the way round, and it cut to an ad! I mean, how annoying is that!!

Wedge, if the only reason you come in here from another state is to act like a bull and mark territory and needle and antagonise, I believe this board system has rules against that sort of thing.

    To keep this on topic:

Fallen Angel, Yeah I've noticed that with a few movies, also ones where they show a scene on the fadeout that gives away some plot point later in thefilm, IE: a murder mystery showing one of the characters holding the murder weapon.

As for the Simpsons, (Steering even further back on topic :) ) Did anyone see that Today/Tonight report with some overpaid government flunky denouncing the show as not suitable for kids?
I mean HELLO! it may be animation but it's not a kid's show, and they were trying to pin the blame on the Simpsons for kids taking knives to school?!
What the hell's up with that?
I think all they did was give an 8 minute ad for a rival network's hit show at prime time.

And this from a TV station that screens "Passions" at 3pm in time for all the kids to come home,

    Lame.

I agree about the Passions thing. It's definately not suitable for children to be watching. I mean, they have a character who looks like a child (he's supposed to be a doll bought to life) who's basically writing a porno at the moment! But I'm addicted to the show, so I'm not about to complain about it. :D

No worries. Twas all just a simple question. I have no idea where you've come up with the idea I'd be causeing trouble with it. There's no need for me to tread on anybody's pinkies in here.

And what the hell is Passions anyway?

Its a really, really bad soap opera on right as the kids are due home from school.

Unfortunately, its also highly addictive. So if anyone could tell me what's happened in the last two months while I've been at work, I'd appreciate it. :p

Flattered! But I don't swing that way, good luck looking for the right man though.

I've never even heard of it before. Afternoon TV isn't exactly the greatest thing on Earth. Beauty and the Beast goes alright and now they've stopped talking about those dole bludgers too, but damn, those 80's Nieghbours are ordinary.

"Fnah, I only watch motor racing, one of the very few sports I can't turn off the tv and just go edit if I'm in the mood."

Shara, why did you edit that post? Scissorhands wasn't being rude. He was simply saying that he only watches sports if can't physically go out and do them himself. ?[face_plain]

Currently discussing this with Scissorhands. Mainly, however, due to the context it was taken in. And before you blame wedge, that was also my original thought on it.

And as I told you Shara, I in no way meant it in that fashion. Not until wedge decided to make a thing out of it did it cross my mind it could be taken that way.

Stuff this, there's other message boards out there where every word you post isn't over-analysed by people looking to just grandstand for attention.
I can see why the people here forming the starwalking branch want nothing to do with these forums, you make people feel about as welcome as a nazi in a mosque.

Maybe you should read what you've written before you post it, Scissorhands.

Think before you post and there'll be no problem :)

Excuse me, but why should anyone have to scan anything they post looking for double entendre's just in case someone with an axe to grind against imaginary friends comes in and takes it in an immature manner?
