Yes, I've donated whole blood, packed red, and a lot of platelets. Donating is a good thing to do. :)

No one would want my blood. Toxic, acidic, corrupting stuff that it is. :p

You don't feel the blood leaving, it's not like that at all. You should probably eat before you donate, and preferably something healthy. I've found that helps me not feel fatigued.

I had a reaction the last time I did a platelets donation and sort of went out on them. It was the medication they pump back with the blood return they said, so I haven't tried again recently.

    Age is annoying.

Depending on who you ask I am very mature or immature. I just can't wait to vote.

i basically pass out if even a pint is taken. i even have trouble if they draw blood for tests, which is just two small vials. so i've kinda stopped trying because of that.

They had trouble finding my vein for the IV when I had my wisdom teeth pulled (and butchered my arm in the process), so I don't think I would fare too well if I would go to give blood.

That, plus, I'm not too fond of needles...

at least you didn't need four shots of anesthesia for that... and then still wake up fifteen minutes before they were done to top it all off. [face_frustrated]

Eww, no. I can't say I experienced that. They finally stuck the thing into my hand and I was out for the duration.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. I can't even imagine what it would be like to wake up in the middle like that...

I enjoy giving blood. Not the process, the act. I feel like I'm doing some good. I know they profit some from my donation, but they also do good things, too.

The process can be difficult for me because I have small veins. My best suggestion: drink lots of water for the full 24 hours before giving blood. Literally lots. Pee so much it gets annoying. Being fully hydrated swells the veins and makes it easier for them to find.
