Sorry for the dumb question, I'm not good at Interwebs stuff, but we're supposed to start a conversation with Darklighter? Or just post on that profile? I think there used to be a Private Message button, but my memory isn't that great, so either there never was a button, I can't find it, or things have changed since the board move. I think starting a conversation is probably the closest thing so... oh well, I'll figure it out eventually.

Shouldn't The Making of Return of the Jedi be in the reference section?

    Start a conversation.

And no, coffee table books about Star Wars OOU aren't eligible as IU reference material.

Shouldn't it maybe be eligible somewhere?

Nah. They're EU awards. We don't have categories for action figures or sticker books, Jar Jar coloring books aside.

Actually, he'll hate this come 2016 when all the VII tie-ins will qualify for a vote. The awards next year in 2015 will probably be a DHC farewell-apalooza ;)

I do- usually it was sometime in April for the midnight "we can now sell prequel crap" launch, so I'd expect Nov in 2015. But that's still stuff we won't be voting on until Jan 2016 :).

    *looks again*

Well he's sort of a Deadpool now that you mention it... a very crosshatched Deadpool caught in a web...

When I get my inevitable Boba Fett/Deadpool coloring book in 20156 I'll give him crosshatches for your sake.

Alright, guys, voting has now officially closed. BUT, because I haven't been hyping this, if you can sneak in your vote before I start reading them, I may look the other way!

The awards ceremony is now underway!

Let's kick off the 2013 Aluminum Falcons with the Best Comic Artist!

We have a tie for fourth place between Mike Mayhew, from The Star Wars, and one of my favorites, Davidé Fabbri.

Third place goes to a newcomer, Gabriel Hardman, lead artist for the new volume of Legacy.

Jan Duursema, winner of four out of five of the previous awards, came in second this year.

This award has only ever gone to two people, and that's not going to change tonight, as the Aluminum Falcon returns to:

    Doug Wheatley!

Honorable mention goes to Brian Albert Thies.

Next up, let's award this year's Aluminum Falcon for Best Short Story!

With honorable mention to The Syrox Redemption, we begin with another tie at fourth place. Constant Spirit and Incognito tied.

In third place, Jason Fry's Speaking Silently.

Eruption, our first prose from John Ostrander, took second.

Our winner of Best Short Story for the year is:

Hondo Ohnaka's Not-So-Big Score! Hey, there's that Jason Fry again.

We move on to the category of Best TV Episode.

Perhaps because of the relative paucity of episodes, we had strong consensus this year, starting with The Clone Wars: The Jedi Who Knew Too Much in fifth.

Placing fourth was The Clone Wars: Shades of Reason.

    The third-best episode was Eminence.

    Your runner-up: The Wrong Jedi.

    And the winner is:

With overwhelming support, The Clone Wars: The Lawless!

Honorable mention to To Catch a Jedi.

Moving on, we come to the Best Novel Author of the year!

Thanks to a tie, every eligible author ended up making the cut. Tied for fifth are veteran Troy Denning and newcomer Martha Wells.

In fourth, the team of Michael Reaves and Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff.

Third place goes to another newcomer, Tim Lebbon.

Timothy Zahn is no newcomer, but he is in second place.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, your winner:

    John Jackson Miller!

Our final award for the night will be the Best Novel of 2013!

Empire and Rebellion: Razor's Edge takes fifth place.

The Last Jedi is in fourth, failing to live up to its title.

Third place belongs to Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void.

In second, the Han-Chewie-Lando heist romp Scoundrels.

The big winner, the Aluminum Falcon Award-winning Best Novel of 2013, is:

    The one, the only, Kenobi!

    YES! Congrats JJM![:D]

And it's awesome Wheatley got it, although that category is always so tough to choose from. It's going to be weird when Marvel takes over and we no longer have the same familiar nominees.
