It was just announced today, so I won't be putting much stock into that rumor just yet.

Also, within the last few years, Hasbro has made some great figures. The previous figures of Mara were all terrible, so it won't be that difficult to make a better one.

The picture from above was Mara Jade, not Mara Jade Skywalker (I might be overly specific here) so I think they're going to use a more recent picture.

Very cool news. I have 2 of the Comic Pack Mara from the duel set with Luke some years back. I think that one was based on images from the graphic novel Mara Jade: Emperor's Hand. She looks more in the Thrawn era. I'm also the proud owner of the rare Gentle Giant bust that I got not so cheap but it's now super expensive and rare now. Don't know where they modeled that after, other than Shannon herself. I'm actually thankful they never did a figure based on the overblown image of the black tight skin outfit. I never saw Mara with that kind of hour glass figure (and yes, I am male and straight!)

If they're going to make the figure based more on after she became a Jedi, then this should be the model they use...IMO:

I really doubt a Mara Jade SKYWALKER action figure will be in a leather catsuit since I really don't think she was wearing that stuff while married to Luke. I would hope the powers to be will have some common sense. Personally, I am more worried about the face. I don't like the official models. I do like Angie Everhart which was the model for the Survivor's Quest cover (yes I found the source photo to prove that).

I just hope she looks good.

I would hope so too. But I have zero faith in TPTB at this point. I honestly don't think the possibility of her not appearing in the catsuit has occurred to very many of the people with creative control of her image these days.

I never understood why an assassin would wear a catsuit anyway. The books always talk about her hidden holdout blaster? Where the hell is that blaster hidden? It reminds me of the movie Bridesmaids where Melissa McCarthy's character is trying to tell the air marshall where she could hide a gun. Maybe I should get off this subject before I start talking about lightsabers.

She doesn't even have a place to put her air speeder keys or a credit chip.

This summer I should transform one of my old red-headed barbies into Mara Jade SKYWALKER. It could be epic. I dont think I have a blonde Ken though.

So, I was reading Club Jade and apparently George Lucas was at Fashion week with his GF. I'm sitting here thinking 'he totally got dragged to THAT one'. Then, I got an idea for the next challenge (which will be after teh MOVE). Mara drags Luke to some girly event. What do you guys think? Of course, if Luke is being dragged by Mara, then you KNOW Han is being dragged by Leia, Corran by Mirax and Wedge by Iella.

You think she'd be able to act assassin with that bust span? Not in your life - she'd get retired with back problems before she turned twenty... Nope - half of it is airbags with hidden blaster etc.

I like it. I'm going to have the girls drag the guys to a cantina where it is lady's night and it turns out it is Male Erotic Dancer night! WOOT! Maybe when the guys get home they can show their women they can stack up to the most erotic male dancer (insert holoporn music here).

I find it hard to imagine Mara doing something "girly", but she could do it on purpose just to make Luke squirm.
I have one idea for a fic in which Mara drags Luke for underwear shopping (that's before they got married and before they even hooked up). I think there will be a lot of Farmboy blushing and Mara laughing evilly.

Make it doubly evil. Have Luke ask Mara to help him pick out a gift for Han and Leia's Anniversary and after a few shops she drags Luke into the lingerie shop suggesting that would be a gift Han and Leia would both enjoy. Can you imagine Mara holding up a sexy outfit and saying "how do you think your sister would look in this?"

Of course, Luke could shut Mara up by saying "I'm not sure, I would have to see it on you!".
