If she hadn't lost all that weight, there would probably be a Joe Cotton joke in here somewhere.

What's Joe Cotton doing on Mike King? I used to love it when she hosted "Retro" on TV2's short-lived late night music program, M2. She's really funny.

Anyone see "Eating Media Lunch" on Tuesday? I don't even think I can talk about the content without getting banned, suffice to say they had an "expose" (which was a hoax) about 1 million dollars of taxpayer money funding a Maori porn film.

It was so funny, and pretty much assumred to offend everyone in one way or another.

It was bloody classic. My flat mate was texting people saying watch this cause he thought it was real, he hadn't seen EML before I think. :p

    "Historically correct"

Funniest thing I've seen in ages. [face_laugh]

I'm going to ask you guys a favour, even though I don't hang round here much or particpate when I do (too busy with fanfic).

On Tuesday @ 11pm on channel three they're going to play a programme called Firefly. You may have heard of it, but then again maybe not - they only made fourteen episodes. It's referred to as a western in space, and I know how that sounds, but I'm going to ask you to watch it anyway.

They're probably going play it out of order because that's the way they played it in America (one of the factors that led to it getting cancelled).

Still, it is a bloodly brilliant show. There'll be a movie of it next year and we Firefly fans are trying to get people to watch the movie and the show so it will get picked up again. Slim hopes, but we have them.

Anyway, please give the show a chance. I promise once you can get your mind around the mangled plot (thanks sooooo much american tv execs), you'll see just how brilliant this show is.

Remember : TV3 @ 11pm, Tuesday 21st December, and several Tuesdays after that. It's called "Firefly". The first episode played will probably not be the original pilot, but one called "The Train Job".

Oh my God! They're playing it in the right order.

Stay with me people, I promise you won't regret it!

I watched a bit of Firefly out the corner of my eye, not really paying it full attention. Looked like Starship Troopers ripoff, but without the humour (of the first movie).

Anyone been watchin 'Mile High' on TV2 10-11pm Tuesdays? Been going for about 4-5 weeks.

It's a dodgy show about the life of some pommy air hostesses. Basically its soft porn :)...... its very good!

Yeah, KR s1 has been out in the UK for ages now, but I haven't had the $$ for it. Now the R4 version is out, I'm hoping to pick it up in a post-Christmas DVD sale :)

Firefly ... that was a new show from Joss Whedon, of Buffy and Dark Angel fame, right?

I purchased the dvd "The Family Guy, Season One" last week. Don't know if anyone here knows it, it used to be on tv bout 2-3 years ago. You know the cartoon Griffin family.

I'd forgotten just how damn funny it is. I mean i'm the biggest Simpson fan, but seriously this show is soooooooooo good. [face_laugh] [face_laugh] [face_laugh] [face_laugh]

that show is _so_ great ... it makes The Simpsons look like The Waltons in comparison. My favourite characters are Brian and Stewie ... esp. the episode of Stewie singing Elton John's "Rocket Man". genius.

I just found out tv3 have been showing Knight Rider at 1pm every weekday .. lucky they were season 1 episodes which I already have on dvd and not some of the season 4 eps that I've never seen. I should watch that daytime tv schedule a bit more, heh.

The TV2 website has the fourth season of Scrubs slated for the Wednesday 8pm timeslot, although they haven't yet announced which Wednesday it'll begin on (they only say early 2005). Should be soon, because the 7:30-8:30pm slot is currently filled by hour-long specials. Joey will probably have 7:30pm.

Amazon has the season one region one DVD set available for pre-order, with a release date of May 17th.

I always found that show creepy as a kid. Especially the bear ... and the fact that zippy had a zip for a mouth was kinda disturbing. There's some more about that clip at imdb http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0275148/ they say it was just made as a private joke for the crew. I'd say the crew got drunk and crazy one night, after one too many days spent acting with puppets.

I much preferred the sooty show ... no one kill that one for me, please :)
