Similar to the above example, I was in the same theatre program as Joe Perry's son. I saw him once or twice. And on completely separate occasions, I saw Steven Tyler around town, since he used to own a restaurant in my town and would visit it often. Non-Aerosmith related, Steve Carell came into the place I worked, and Jennifer Coolidge spoke at my sister's high school graduation. I just have a lot of famous people either from or around my little town.
Outside of the normal autograph sessions and such, I've met two musicians: -I went to church with Katy Perry when I was a kid/teenager. She's gotten dumber with age. -Jack Johnson's wife was my geometry teacher and he came into our class frequently Two athletes: -Snuck past security at DWTS to talk to Hope Solo and get her autograph -Talked my way past security at a Sounder Women game to get Alex Morgan's autograph And one actor -In high school my friends and I saw John Cleese at Border's and pretty much made idiots of ourselves working up the courage to talk to him. He was real nice about it.
Man, who have I had brief chats with over the years (Mostly athletes)... Chuck Norris (Really short) Cyndi Lauper (Without makeup ) Joe Perry Charles Barkley Reggie Miller Bo Jackson Joe Theismann Bobby Knight (Also without makeup ) Zack Randolph Mike Conley Dave Parker Hayden Christensen Jerry West Ed "Too Tall" Jones Alfre Woodard (She was actually quite snobby) Robin Williams Louis Black Lance Armstrong (lol) I think there are a few more, but I just can't remember them right now.
Apparently I cashiered for a Z-list celebrity known as "SuperNanny" two weeks ago. Other than that, I met Mark Cuban at a Sacramento Kings game, and ran into Roger Clemens at a Chilli's in Texas once. I also sat across from Matt Leinart at a BJ's in Huntington Beach. I keep trying to get Darth_Guy and Darth_Tunick to go on a date with me but they don't seem to want to start a relationship.
Met tons over the years. But the most fun was hanging out with the semi-celeb Nalini Krishan who played Barriss Ofee in Ep2. I tried to get her drunk so @Nabooty_Call could sex her.
oh yeah, i've met famousamos too. we went to disney world and got drunk a bunch of times and did all kinds of awesome stuff. most of the time he danced.
Let's see...I've been in close proximity to Clive Owen, Rodrigo Santoro, Michael B. Williams, Kevin Durand, Joaquin Phoenix, Shahrukh Khan, Lars Ulrich, Santiago Cabrera, Guy Fieri, Steve Sansweet, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Chris Pratt, and Nicole Kidman (who spoke to me - "nice hat") I've seen from afar: Robert Duvall, Anastasia Griffith, and Steven Soderbergh (he was having a tantrum).
I know most of the guys from Oingo Boingo (except Danny Elfman, sigh), Danny Pudi goes to the same Peet's as I do, I used to go to church with Bradley Whitford, Jane Kaczmarek, Tony Shaloub and their families, I once almost walked into Michael Cera (like we would've been in a pile on the ground were it not for a well timed jump to the left) when he was on a date at the New Bev Cinema, listened in on a chat Wim Wenders was having with some people outside a screening of two of his movies, and I'm 85% certain I exchanged words with Werner Herzog in a men's room. EDIT: And weirdly enough Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag were both in one of my college GEs.
I've met quite a few people through my job. Daniel Logan was in my theater a couple days ago. Most of the roster of the Utah Jazz frequent my theater, the main reason they all tell me is that we have valet parking. Julianne Hough been to my theater a few times as she is from here. At work functions I've met Chuck Norris and his wife, Tony Romo, Roger Staubak(sp?), and Jeffrey Katzenberg.
I've met Hilary Clinton, Diane Keaton, Weird Al Yankovic, and Jeff Dunham. Quite an eclectic group, there.
Anthony Hopkins nearly knocked me over storming out of the National Gallery many years ago. I'll never forget the look of hatred and contempt on his face. Good times.
Mostly athletes. Just about everyone who played for the Pistons from about 90-00. Joey Harrington sat at my table at Benihana's and was a total douche the whole time. A few Red Wings players, but I was never into hockey. Sat and had a chat with Barry Sanders for about 15 minutes, by far the nicest athlete I've run into.
To be fair, I met Hillary some 15 years ago, before she started to resemble Pruneface. I don't see a difference, do you?
I care too! I suck at the game but it's fun to watch. Far less confusing than LofL. I met David Prowse at London Film and Comic Con in July. He was really nice. My brother has met Patrick Stewart.
I've met a lot of sci-fi actors, mostly from Star Wars, Star Trek, and BSG. I always love talking to Richard Hatch (Apollo, original BSG), he is a sweet man. The most famous person I've ever met was Robin Williams. He came to our ship during deployment, part of a USO show.
