A new hobbit trailer? Haven't seen it so far...
Well then, go and watch it!
Cinemas are no place for a hobbit!
... and I used to have a table of RPG players who once tricked themselves into helping Sauron forge the One Ring *whistles*
Where do you live, Morgaine? (AndI like the idea about exploring a lot )
And no, no precise plans yet, aside from the leg in Essen obviously
I have a feeling those movies are going to be very different from the books, but damn I want to see them anyway. Also, Martin Freeman is absolutely perfect as Bilbo from all I've seen so far.
I live in a city called Oldenburg. It's in the North of Germany, about 200 km west of Hamburg. It's a medium-sized town, around 160,000 inhabitants I think, and pretty average all around I'd say.
I've been meaning to go exploring for ages, but somehow I never get around to it. Maybe having someone else around would help.
Ah, so close One of the last farmers we visited was 15 km SE of Oldenburg
Beginning to resemble a trip in West-North Germany
That trailer has some nice pics. First I thought it would just show Hobbits, which isn't my favorite topic. But if it's more like LotR, which it seems to be, then I might go to the cinema. Thanks for linking, Julia.
15km? That's damn close. Sad that you haven't spoken about it earlier.
Edit: First I get a system error "time out, reply didn't get posted" and then I got a double post* when trying again. Weird!
*deleted double post already
I wasn't free with my movements until I arrived at Hamburg, unfortunately It was a work trip, pre-arranged by the client firm for which we worked.
And the farmer whose fields we visited near Oldenburg was a bit eccentric. Did a lot of experiments with his maize. He joined a few other local farmers in a complaint regarding a specific lot of seeds because he was asked to by the others, only he didn't have accurate records of what he'd sown where...
What is it that you do for a living, if you don't mind me asking? I can't imagine a whole lot of jobs that would require you to visit farms in foreign countries!
Well, there are a lot more dwarves than hobbits in that film, if that makes you feel better.
Hey, does that old Metropolis cinema in Cologne still exist....?
I would guess it's some kind of 'controlling' like for the food industry. Checking if the products are handled as promised and if the quality is still as good as said. But then again, I could be totally wrong...
Yep, that makes me feeling better... although not that much.
Yep, the Metropolis cinema is still there. Do you wanna visit us again? That'll be cool!!
How could I watch The Hobbit anywhere else? I'll definitely be there!
Oh, cool!! Then we just have to find a date that fits for us all!!
The city of Metropolis is only about 2-3 hours from me. They have a giant statue of Superman and a Superman museum there but I didn't know that they have a cinema.
You live that close? Then you're welcome to join us to watch The Hobbits there.
I wish that I could.
I know that you knew.
EDIT: Stupid server error causing me to double post.
Me, too! I can't wait for the Hobbit
(Also, I'm Nat. Skiara's away until the 29th, so I'll be popping in. Message me if you need anything!)
Hi Nat, nice to meet you.
Have I really forgotten to post here about my holidays? Damn. Sorry. I hope everything's still standing. I saw we even got one more player for quick games!
How are you? My holidays were great and I had lots of fun as well as some sun! I love sun and warm weather! When I came back home, I wanted to go back right away, because it was about 25°C colder (about 1°C!) than at the place I had been. But my boyfriend stopped me to sneak into the next airplane going back.
Thanks for your help, Nat!
Welcome back! A few days ago, we went from summer to late autumn all of a sudden.
Here as well. Imagine, it was above 25°C at my holiday destination and when I came back to Germany it was just about 1°C... Someone at facebook posted something like "which damn person took the switch to winter time literally?". I wonder that as well...
Damn! Did we have many spammers in FFC! Never happened to have that much since I'm here!
Luckily I had some help of other mods...
How are you all? Preparing for Christmas already or waiting a few more weeks until the high season of Christmas starts?
@Morgaine, The Hobbit is in the cinemas!
Has anyone seen it so far already?
I haven't seen it and doubt that I'll get to until it's on HBO or Cinemax. Not working and not having any money sucks.
