Saga The Sol Hope: An OT AU

Well I hope at least some people read this one. I don't really have much to say, other than please read and review.

The planet Earth, an unremarkable planet, in an unremarkable system, in an unremarkable (aside from being ?unknown?) region. What makes this average planet special is that it was the heart of a 500 planet republic. Called the Sol Confederacy, it and the neighboring Chiss Ascendancy were the only holdouts in a galaxy dominated by the Republic, and then the Empire. The Confederacy avoided the Republic, and Empire, but they had just come out of their own war.

At the time they had an expansionist government, which brought the Confederacy into conflict with the Chiss. That war cost Sol a quarter of its fleet but numbers eventually forced the Chiss to agree to a cease fire. Thankfully though, the Confederacy had rebuilt and modernized their fleet.

While it has nowhere near the number of ships the Empire does, they do have a secret weapon. Developed near the end of Chiss/Confederacy war, it is called the ?Positron Cannon?. It was this weapon which has kept the Chiss in check. And it was the design for this weapon, and the prototype ?G? Weapon that the frigate Allegiance was bringing to the Rebel planet Alderaan. On the way there it received a distress call from Alderaan?s Princess!


Allegiance~
The bridge of the Confederacy frigate was in a state of emergency. It had only been recently that Sol signed an alliance with the Rebel?s, but the vast majority of its population sympathized with their plight. Thus a mood of severe anger had set in that anyone would attack the Princess.

?Hurry up! Where is that distress call coming from!? the captain, a fiery red-head named Liza Fisher yelled. At age 20 she was already a full fledged captain, and a good one, so the crew loved her. But it was Admiral Smith who was in charge of this mission, and he let it be known.

?Captain we need to concentrate on our mission!? Smith bellowed.

?I know that, but Leia has the plans for the Empire?s super-weapon!? Liza shot back.

Now that he remembered that, Smith shut up and let her do her job. And a few minutes later the Allegiance came out of hyperspace in Tattoine orbit.

As the sleek diamond of the Allegiance entered orbit over the desert world, the Tantive IV was being captured by the Devastator. On the bridge of said Destroyer, Captain Katar was watching the capture of the Rebel Corvette in Vader?s absence.

?I expected them to put up more of a fight. Even for rebels they were weak.? Katar said to himself.

?You?ve got that right sir! We sure showed those rebel?s how its done!? an over-eager Lt. Smith.? Katar replied. The next few minutes were a rather monotonous string of reports about the progress of the battle for the Tantive IV.

When Leia was finally captured and the corvette fully secured, an escape pod launched.

?There goes another one sir.? A gunner said.

?Ignore it, there?s no life signs, it?s probably a malfunction.? The officer said.

In any case he had bigger things to worry about. The Allegiance had just reached visual range. And all along the length of the 400 meter ship blue fire came to life.

?Launch fighters! Ready turbolasers and inform Lord Vader of the situation!? Katar yelled, as the first volley smashed into Devastator?s shields.

Liza was giving the same orders on the Allegiance.

?Launch all Cross? ready plasma bank?s and turbolasers! Sensor?s where?s the Tantive IV?!?

?That Star Destroyer captured it!? the sensor?s officer reported.

As the first volley of blue plasma, and equally blue turbolaser fire arched into space, the 20 fighters Allegiance carried launched. Resembling an X-wing but with 2 of the S-Foils on top or bottom along with the wing ones, the Cross? were slightly slower, and roughly as maneuverable as the
