So what the Bermuda Triangle relocated now? I mean what the heck, how do you keep losing planes like this?

 

It's not like all the planes in this thread disappeared. One was shot down.

 

2 out of 3 ain't bad.

 

To lose one plane may be regarded as a misfortune. To lose three planes looks like carelessness.

 

The two that have vanished weren't the same airline - or the even same type of aircraft.

They were both Malaysian companies though.

This one might be weather-related. BBC News reported that there was bad weather in the area. And I heard earlier that the pilot had requested a course change (presumably to get around it). Plane is an A320-200. Same article says that most passengers are Indonesian, with a mix of other nationalities. It mentions one UK person among the missing. Air search is suspended til morning but some boats are remaining in the area.

 

I blame Donnie Darko.

 

Well, at least it's not another mad flight out into the middle of nowhere, and seems to have been lost closer to land. Should be at least some hope of finding survivors.

 

Way to bookend a year.

 

Naaahhhh, when two completely different American airliners crash the news media always says they're connected.

The aviation forum I lurk on is speculating the thunderstorms played a part and that this could be like the AF447 crash. Very sad.

 

Sounds almost like the Air France plane.
The weather is right now not helping with the search.

They figured CNN needed competition on worst missing plane coverage.

 

Slow news days since their Congress won't be in session until later in January to block everything that the President does.

If only the pilot had been packing a Colt .45 this whole crisis could've been averted.
