Now that we have the announcement that there will definitely be spin-off films, suddenly the forum for Episode VII has become crammed with threads that, frankly, shouldn't be here, such as discussions over who gets to play a young Han Solo, or what should happen in a Boba Fett film, or whether a Yoda film would work. Why shouldn't they be here? Because, a slight chance of an appearance by Fett notwithstanding, you're probably not going to see a young Han or Yoda in the ST, where Han is already old - if he's there at all - and where Yoda insists on staying dead with no iron-clad guarantee of even a ghost Yoda. If there's very little chance that we'll see either of those things in Episode VII, why are they here in an Episode VII forum? Because they chose to label it "Episode VII and Beyond," and there's no other forum for the spin-off people to go to. It also creates a load of confusion here, because neither part of this, the ST or the spin-offs, can get the proper amount of attention if both contradictory subjects are forced into one forum. In the space of a day or so since the spin-off announcement, what was already a large and unwieldy forum has since become the equivalent of the prequel-era Galactic Senate, with everyone talking over each other over completely contradictory issues, and no one being heard. My suggestion: we need to separate these subjects into two separate forums. Things related to Episodes VII, VIII and IX should stay in this forum; things related to the spin-offs need their own separate forum on this site. This way, people who are interested in either subject get their own forum in which to air their voices without risk of becoming lost in the din. This "and Beyond" business is WAY too broad an umbrella definition for threads that belong in this forum, and it therefore doesn't perform proper service to either interest, the ST or the spin-offs; it needs to go.
