I've been watching the QLD/NZ match with great interest ... Nathan Astle has run away to be 190 n.o. so it looks like NZ will have the upper hand here.

I also just wanted to point out Clinton Perren's bowling statistics.

This is from a guy who doesn't normally bowl! Pretty heartening when you consider Andy Symonds got hit for 57 off the same number of overs!

Anyway, we don't just have to talk about cricket ... I put it to you, Fanforce, what's new in the world of sport?

Well, Nathan Astle finally got toppled for about 220. Last I heard, the Bulls were and were 1 for 127, I think.

 

Sil - FIFA were going to make us play the first leg of our world cup qualifier abroad, which would stuff us around because we have a friendly against France at the MCG(?)just prior to the first qualifier. So this would have meant all our players comming here from Europe to play France, then going to South America for the 1st Qualifier, then comming back for the second.

Anyway, it's all good now, FIFA have changed their minds

You can bet i'll be here this season. Astle, Cairns and a few others seem to have hit some form just at the right time.

and dont worry, we have seen australia get well over 400 from this situation many times before. it would be extremely smart for NZ to not start feeling good about themselves.

actually, in this amazing run of test that australia have done so well in, i havent seen ANY innings (completed of course, not one of those 4th innings where they need 20 runs for victory) where australia hasnt collapsed. it is just that they do well enough with a couple of batsmen, so they dont need everyone else.

 

OK, so most of today was rained out but they're back out now (at least while the rain holds off).

Gilchrist and Lee Jnr are the partnership, Australia is 7/370 and the out-field is looking brutally slow.......
