To be fair Zsinj didn't let the supposed Ewok fly one of his own interceptors, it was one Wraith squadron had already stolen. And the problem Zsinj had was that he went up against Rouge Squadron, Wraith Squadron, and Han Solo. In most cases that's a death warrant.

And I'd like to nominate the Imperial Warlords after Operation Shadowhand. Instead of trying to recoup their losses they decided to hunker down in the Deep Core and kill each other. All the while the NR takes over the rest of the galaxy and completely encircles them. And none of them seem to care.

 

I think most didn't want the galaxy, they just wanted their private kingdoms.

 

But they had their kingdoms, they had starfleets. But instead of just switching over to an uneasy peace they decided to go over to a civil war. And if that situation were to continue the NR could've just waltzed in after the smoke had cleared and finish things. After Shadowhand it wasn't about re-conquering the galaxy, it was about trying to stave off total defeat. And in that troubled situation the warlords decided to have a civil war.

 

To be fair...

The New Republic wasn't going to blow their planets to hell with all their populations.

Fact. At the moment of hesitation, Mace trusts Anakin to allow him to do the best thing for the future of the Jedi and the Republic.
