I have a strange feeling there's going to be a Stranger Things movie, and it will bomb the way Serenity bombed, with a kind of bombed out intensity reserved for things that seem to have a strong and avid following but don't really.

 

i don't know if the two things are actually very comparable. firefly was marketed horribly by fox, buried in awful time slots, shown out of order, preempted by sporting events, and then canceled. the result was that it only had a small but devoted cult fanbase. stranger things otoh seems like a genuine cultural phenomenon and is one of netflix's most popular shows ever.

also, salon is so awful.

that's a way better take on my name. i grew up being called "ass plunge" quite a bit.

it's barba fett. here's another (better imho) one:

 

we had an asplundhe (last name) in boy scouts. he was ass plunderer. its a lot more direct than "ass plunge", imho. i dunno why anyone wouldn't go straight to ass plunderer. its right there in the name

Nerd alert!

 

This was released upside down. So I'm hoping that means it's hinting at a Goonies styles adventure in the Upside Down for season 2. It's one of the few concepts that I've thought might work for a second season.

Just realized the soundtrack was released some time ago. Downloaded both versions of Kids. Listened to them non stop.

 

Time has allowed this show to marinate in my mind. This has only made this show stand out as a even greater piece of tv.

My only hope is that S2 really does something different. S1 was really special and anything that feels like a retread will cheapen the enterprise.

 

There could be no other possible explanation.
