Is it just me or is John Williams using a lot more string instruments in the PT? Not to say they were absent from the OT, of course not, but the newer tracks seem have much more string in them. I don't know, maybe it's just me. Has anyone else noticed this? And oh yeah, is it just me or is the Euphonium barely getting any love in the PT?

I don´t know about the euphonium, but there is noticably more strings in the PT. This is because there is music in scenes that would´ve been quiet back in the OT days and for those scenes, JW usually choose strings for emotions and flutes for "colder" scenes.
It could also be because the PT as a whole is more about emotions than the OT.

Also John Williams' style has evolved a lot since Return of the Jedi. He uses more strings in a lot of his work. I think it's mainly a byproduct of this. And I am embarassed to say that I don't know what a euphonium is.

euphoniums aren't used in major symphony orchestras. The main purpose of the euphonium in a band is to cover cello parts. and to double up on woodwind parts.

It's mainly used in wind ensembles and sometimes known simply as the "Baritone" or "Baritone horn".

Well, ok, is it just me or is the BARITONE getting very little loving? I mean, there are lots of great Baritone melodies in the OT (although none that I can say at the moment, I'm too tired, haha). Now they seem very few.
