Since I posted wanting to see Corellia in another thread, let me try my hand at a Corellian trilogy (that sounds familiar...)

Episode Title: Shipyard Blues
Episode Synopsis: Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are sent to the shipyards of Corellia to oversee the construction of the Republic's newest, heaviest cruiser, the Justicar. Obi-Wan is distressed by the planetary bombardment capabilities of the ship, while Anakin is fascinated by the design. The tour of the new vessel is cut short by a Separatist spy who has stolen the plans and technical data for the ship, information that may lead to the Separatists finding a weakness in the Republic's new battlecruiser.

Episode Title: Chasing Ghosts
Episode Synopsis: Having barely eluded the Jedi on the Republic battlecruiser Justicar, the mysterious spy escapes to Corellia. Hiding among the bright lights of Treasure Ship Row, the spy attempts to remain undetected as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker chase after the stolen Republic data tapes. In a shocking twist, the spy is revealed to be none other than Padme Amidala, who seeks a way to stop the launch of the battlecruiser.

Episode Title: Gambler's Luck
Episode Synopsis: Discovering the true identity of the supposed spy, Obi-Wan Kenobi must help Padme Amidala recover the data tapes detailing the weaknesses of the Republic's newest battlecruiser from a den of gamblers. Meanwhile, Anakin Skywalker continues to track the trail of the elusive spy, unaware that it is actually his wife. Anakin and his squadron of clones arrive at the seedy casino just as Obi-Wan's gamble to regain the tapes is about to be determined.

Basically the idea of this trilogy is that Palpatine has commissioned a battleship designed specifically to bombard planets (a precursor to the EU torpedo sphere, in essence). Unable to stop the ship from being built through political means, and certain it will cause unimaginable devestation to civilians, Padme heads to the shipyard and steals the plans before the ship is complete, hoping it will stall the work long enough for her to get the votes to stop the ship from being launched. Obi-Wan and Anakin happen to be touring the ship when Padme makes her daring theft.

At that point, it becomes kind of an homage to A New Hope, with Vader...er...Anakin trying to track down the stolen data tapes. In the first episode, the "Separatist spy" is dressed in all black and wears a full mask (think kind of Lady Vader-ish). It's not till the second episode we discover it's actually Padme, and not a Separatist at all. Unfortunately for Padme, in the second episode she loses the tapes while trying to elude Anakin and Obi-Wan. The tapes are stolen and end up in the hands of a cardshark (new character, a seedy gangster who plays Sabacc). At the end of the second episode, Obi-Wan and Anakin have split up, Obi-Wan playing detective while Anakin opts for the brute force method of searching with a squadron of clones.

In the third episode, Obi-Wan discovers the spy is actually Padme, and when she explains her reasons, he agrees with her (Obi-Wan makes it clear in the prior two episodes that he disagrees completely with the new ship and its purpose). He agrees to help her regain the tapes from the gangster, and the two enter the Sabacc den to try their luck. Anakin, meanwhile, does his best bull-in-a-china-shop looking for the "spy". This would be shades of the scenes in A New Hope, maybe even having Anakin holding a guy up by the throat, and a "tear this <shop? store? building?> apart, and bring me that spy, I want them alive!" Not so much evil, but driven to find those tapes.

In the end, Anakin shows up at the Sabacc den just as Obi-Wan's big gamble pays off and he wins the tapes. There could be a little "Temple of Doom" bit to it as well (Club Obi Wan anyone?), whe

 

I would love sooo much. there are not words.
Especially since, it occurs to me, for all that Star Wars is a very fighter happy franchise, we have never had a proper fighter deul that I can remember. Even Wedge vs Fel was kind of disapointing.

though, in all fairness, this is kind of what Hero of the Confederacy was about...but dam Heroes of the Confederacy would have made good episodes...especially since they introduce the Eta-2 at the end.

 

I would like to see an episode or two that breaks the chronology a bit and has more of the prelude to the CW, the background of Dooku,who he is, why he does what he does, and what motivates him more.
Also an episode focused on one character. Just one. And make the entire episode about that character. Like a solo mission.

 

I agree with that one.

While some people absolutely do NOT want to see flashbacks on the show (while some do), I think with Dooku, it'd be very very interesting to see him as he was when he was a Jedi, if just once. He still would be pretty similar to what he is as Darth Tyranus (charismatic, elegant, etc) but of course he lacked that "dark" nature that he has now. It'd be SO great to see him with prominent Jedi Council members (Yoda, Mace, Plo, Ki-Adi, Tiin, etc) on more "friendly" terms, but at the same time voice his concerns about the direction the Republic is heading.....really, it'd in effect be showing reasons as to why he turned his back on the Jedi Order and his distaste of the Republic. It also wouldn't be a flashback on Dooku just for the sake of it, but would be related to TCW in general because we see some of the reasons as to why he joined with the Separatists and believes them to be such a "just" cause.

But as I said, the benefits of this is just how cool it'd be to see him among these Jedi whom now he'd be drawing his lightsaber against. Also, such an episode would provide more impact on any future confrontations he may have with key Council members, we'll remember what they were like when they were friends, and now we see them as enemies willing to kill each other.

The thing with flashbacks is that there is a difference between utilising them in a way which benefits the show, and using them simply for the sake of showing an adventure in the pre-TPM era, or the TPM-AOTC era, etc etc. But looking into Dooku's past as a Jedi, and his interactions with his colleagues (particularly a pre-Master Obi-Wan, and heck maybe he was even formally introduced to Anakin when the boy had just joined the Order) is definitely something that would benefit the show as a whole in creating further three-dimensional villains.

 

Yeah, flashbacks sound good, but it's a good point that they should benefit the show. Dooku is certainly the best candidate, but I'd also be interested in taking a look at Ahsoka...I think looking at her past would add more perspective on her character as well as those around her, and I'm not just saying that because Plo Koon found her, no.

 

I'm just wondering though with a Dooku flashback, according to what I've read on wookiepedia, it claims that he wanted to actively seek out the remaining Sith Lord who was in part, responsible for Qui-Gon's death. Would be interesting to see his FIRST interaction with Palpatine/Sidious. I'm wondering what your thoughts are on this....this was a VERY key moment in setting the early foundations of the Clone Wars. Dooku was close to Qui-Gon, just how exactly and what did Palpatine/Sidious say that could win Dooku over like that despite Qui-Gon's death.

In particular, it'd be interesting if their first meeting was very tense, where before Palpatine won Dooku over, Dooku perhaps showed initial intent to challenge/kill him - perhaps even going as far to draw a lightsaber, like Anakin did in ROTS of learning about Palpatine's true identity....but backed off.

Some people may not like this in the sense that it may mean it shows the Palpatine/Sidious identity directly in the show and they want the reveal to remain for ROTS - but I think really....this was a very key moment in regards to the start of TCW - Palpatine/Sidious takes Dooku as his apprentice, bestows the name "Tyranus" on him and lay the foundations and events that eventually trigger the war.

If there was an episode which shows their first meeting(s), it would be shown after Dooku's expression of distaste for the Republic and turning his back on the order.

 

Episode Title: The Nightmare Before Life Day
Episode Brief: It is Life Day on the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk, but as the furry species temporarily resigns from galactic affairs to take part in the celebrations, a Separatist-backed Trandoshan invasion force launches its assault on the forest world. Only Master Yoda, visiting as a show of goodwill between the Jedi Order and the Wookiee people, can stop them - with the help of a young chieftain's son named Chewbacca.

Episode Title: Slaves of the Republic
Episode Brief: Jedi Master K'kruhk and Jedi Knight Jeisel travel to a planet on the outskirts of the Republic, where slavers have been taking advantage of the war to enslave entire populations without the Senate noticing. Unfortunately, the Jedi's attempts to free the slaves are complicated when the slavers reveal they have the backing of Judicial Superintendant Wilhuff Tarkin and his 'Emergency Labour Seizure' Bill...

Episode Title: Knights of Ellanyn
Episode Brief: When news reaches the Jedi Council of a long-believed dead Jedi Master gathering Jedi to the planet of Ellanyn and proclaiming that it is the duty of the Order to refrain from the war, Jedi Masters Ki-Adi-Mundi and Luminara Unduli are dispatched to negotiate a solution that will not tear the Order apart. Meanwhile, Count Dooku travels to Ellanyn to personally ensure that the rogue Jedi are brought into the Separatist fold.
Jedi Fortune Cookie: Neutrality rarely remains so in wartime.

 

I really wouldn't be surprised to see a future episode doing just that... providing backstory for Ahsoka,
her relationship with other togruta (specifically her clan or family), and expanding on her relationship
with Plo Koon. It just makes sense; especially, considering the recent arc with Obi-Wan and Satine.

Who knows. Maybe Plo Koon could wind up in a togruta harem...

 

Naturally. The ladies just can't resist a good antiox breath mask.

Which makes me wonder...would there be other characters with room for these kinds of episodes? Some of the ones I think would be nice to see...
-Rex's origins in training and how he got his name
-Asajj getting a retelling or definitive version of her backstory, maybe even one where she's an 'unreliable narrator'. Makes sense given the attempt at defining Mandalorians, and the fact that she's a high profile villain
-Cad Bane's roots as a bounty hunter, or even the process of hiring him. Maybe a story told from the perspective of someone hunted by a bounty hunter
-And who can forget...Aayla Secura's unnamed master?

 

Flashbacks scare me for two reasons.

1. They have never been a storytelling tool for on-screen Star Wars, which would make them jarring.
2. They are way overused in modern genre storytelling, especially on TV.
3. Watching several seasons of Lost has given be a gag reflex while enduring flashbacks.

 

Well, there was some concept art in Art of the Clone Wars of a little Ahsoka being foung by Plo Koon, so I can see that happening. More backstory on Ahsoka could be good.

I don't mind the idea of flashbacks in TCW. This show jumps around time so much anyway.. Sounds like a good opportunity to tell certain stories.

 

Having seen how cool the chase through Coruscant was in "Duchess of Mandalore", should the last season cross over into the ROTS timeline, there's quite a few episodes that could be made to show a different angle of whats going on during ROTS.

Note, each point doesn't depict an individual episode, but rather a bunch of ideas.

- Show us some of the missions the Jedi are undertaking off world (Plo Koon on Cato Neimodia, Stass Alliee on Saleucami, Ki-Adi Mundi on Mygeeto, Barriss and Aayla on Felucia, Luminara on Kashyyk, etc)
- Scenes on Coruscant with the battle going on above the planet - disrest on the streets, etc
- Show Anakin/Vader and the 501st storm the temple, we didn't actually see them really go through and cut down Jedi. This would be a good opportunity to see key Jedi Deaths (perhaps Anakin vs Jocasta, Anakin (and then clones) vs Shaak Ti with Shaak Ti putting up a good fight, but ultimately escaping, Terra Sinube escaping into Coruscant underbelly or being killed by Anakin, Coleman Kcaj death by Anakin perhaps in Temple - if they put him into the show, Anakin killing Drallig - if he's in the show, lots of other Anakin and clones vs Jedi battles).
- Show more Order 66 deaths that we didn't see (key deaths here: Luminara, Barriss and perhaps several other Jedi introduced in the series)
- Show more scenes from Jedi Temple prior to arrival of Yoda and Obi-Wan with Jedi fleeing into the streets, some trying to escape via Maglev, others running across streets, rooftops even stealing transport out of sheer desperation and being chased down the by Coruscant Clone Guard and Police Drone droids - ultimately most of these being killed.
- See some Jedi get assistance from members of the public, while others rat them out.
- See some smuggle themselves aboard ships to get off world (perhaps Shaak Ti could be one of these)
- Key contrast to what we saw in "Lightsaber Lost" - see Sidious (now with scarred visage via the screens) declaring Jedi enemy of the Republic and they must be turned in to Republic authorities. See Police Drones and clones asking people have they seen any Jedi around and ruthlessly hunt them down.
- See Anakin/Vader officially shut down the droid armies and we see scenes of the droids all across the universe shut down mid-battle with clones. (the official end of the clone wars in effect)
- perhaps see a scene where the police drone droids with the republic symbol on them being called in to be shut down (since they were an image of the republic in a way on the streets - could almost be a slight scene like the one in i robot how the old robots are collected and ultimately dumpted).

 

Absolutely. This is a SW TV Show, not a film. And the show has already distinguished itself from the films in important ways anyway. We need to see these characters and their backgrounds, motivations,etc.

I think it's essential we know more about Ashoka and her character. If that comes in a backstory, great. If it's more linear to the shows timeline, that's fine too.

But the people behind the show can have more freedom to do certain things because of the format than what a SW film would have.

The prequels followed a previous trilogy. That previous trilogy was well-established.

This is SW TV Year Two.

They can really define their own path.

 

I think that there's a little misconception on flashbacks as we use the term.

Flashbacks, the way most shows use them, involve an episode having scenes that take place PRIOR to the actual episode itself, and take up the time.

What we're talking about, to the best of my knowledge, are essentially 'prequel episodes', wherein the whole episode, while progressing in a linear fashion, occurs at an earlier point in the timeline.

Not sure if that's any better to some people, but just thought I'd throw that in. XD

 

I would like to see the events of No Prisoners as episodes.

 

I want to see an episode where Artoo and Threepio team up and spend the whole episode on an adventure together. If the producers of The Clone Wars do it right and make it feel like the OT, it could be a really great episode.

 

I think it could be interesting to have a droids episode and see the events from their perspective, so there's laways major stuff going on around them but they're not really involved in it. Like in ANH when Threepio answers Luke's question about being in battles with the Rebels and he says "Several, I think" - like he doesn't really know because he was always down below on the ship somewhere and nobody ever thought to tell him what was going on.

 

Yep. That's what I'm talking about anyway.

 

That still takes us outside the series bible, and basic premise of the show. Actual flashbacks would at least be grounded in TCW. If you follow this idea through, it boils the series down "any Star Wars story we want to see from any era."

Also, it would require new character models for everyone getting prequel-ized, and they would likely never be used again. Your idea absolutely makes sense in a novel or comic, where budget is not an issue.

 

Hmm, that's a very good point, though I suppose they'd require some sort of 'limit' to how far back episodes would go, in its defense. Like say, nowhere near episode 1.
However, if they ARE planning to transition character models back to the way they look in Episode 3, it MIGHT be possible to write them as an excuse to show robed Jedi.

...Then again, simply writing a plausible explanation in the present time works even better, so, yeah.

If they DID plan to do a Holonet episode, I wonder how it'd work out...

 

Here are more ideas I would like to see:

I would like to see an investigation story that explains how, and why, Sifo-Dyas had organized the clone army.

A story about what happened to Boba Fett after the battle of Geonosis.

Dooku's birthright as a count and where he hails from, such as his homeworld and family.

More explanation about the workings of Naboo's politics and why they're called Queens and Kings when elected.

Alderaan's place during the war.

 

Title: Show of Will

Fortune Cookie: You can't control change, only the direction it goes.

Synopsis: Newsreel. Nuetrality crushed! Cunning separatist generals have weaved their way back into the outer rim. The republic battlefront and civilian security, is put to a test when General Grievous captures Clack'dor VII, but the intentions of the seige, are even more shocking...

Act I: We open on the Jedi temple. Mace Windu objects Addi Gallia and Obi-Wan Kenobi's idea of liberating it, stating that it IS unhabited. Eeth Koth speaks up, suggesting they are blockading the entire system. Ki-Adi Mundi takes this very seriously, and suggests evacuation of the most inner planets. Yoda silences the argument. He decides to send Plo Koon, Ki-Adi Mundi, Obi-Wan, Anakin, Ahsoka to the Clack'Dor system. He puts five other Jedi knights on hold, waiting for the senate to allow a move of fleet. In the senate, Palpatin reluctantly opens the conversation. Halle Burtoni wants the operation to go forth, but Riyo Chuchi and Padme Amidala object. Lot Dodd and Onaconda Farr (who hasn't died yet) open their objections aswell. Mas Ameda tallies the votes and crushes the liberal objection. Palpatine, seemingly unwillingly, allows a fleet to go investigate.

On the planet, a Muun scientist is captured on exit of the planet's asteroid feild. Ki-Adi Mundi examines the bulk headed, one eyed separatist, and decides to do some recon, posing as the Muun. Ki-Adi is stalled by a pair of droid commandoes, who begin searching the suspicious spy of anything. Inside a great base, Ki is missing the separatists' debriefing. Grievous states that the mission has been a success, and reviels Poggle the Lesser, Wat Tambor, San Hill, Nute Bunray and Trench to back him up in the campaign. Dooku is spective, doubting Grievous's abilities. Passel Argente and Asajj Ventress agree. Eventually, more funds are transfered to Cato Neimoidia, and a second fleet is sent to Clack'Dor. Grievous steps out and confers with his Tactical Droid, TV-101. TV relays the history of the planet. As of thirteen years before, the planet had been a prison world for the Bith, who proceeded to seal off much Huk activity, trapping hundreds of warriors in the system. Full with rage from the Yam'rii even being mentioned, Greivous ghetto stomps a B1 and prepares a dozen Recon droids to find the survivors.

 

I second that. We haven't seen enough of the duo together in TCW and they just write themselves when put into a episode.

 

Act II: Ki-Adi Mundi steps in to a banking argument between San Hill and Nute Gunray. He asks akwardly into the location of the fleet general, mind tricking his way through security. He finds TV-101 looming over a battle plan. Ki spooks him and the droid sees through the disguise. TV attacks Ki, pulls out the Jedi's lightsaber, puches Ki out of the room and seals it off. Ki uses the force to crush the telecom line, isolating the droid. With noone else who knows about his operation, Mundi makes a secret call to Anakin, who responds whole hartedly. Anakin presses forward three Venators and two Acclamators. Both Acclamators are grounded and only one Venator survives. Commander Wolfe identifies it as "the Midnight Shadow", carrying the encrypted access codes to the clone departure facilities. DYing to get it Back, Anakin leaves the Resolute, seconds before it two is put under attack. With no way to get out, Obi-Wan and Plo urge Anakin back, but he stuburnly refuses. Even Anakin is outfought, and his ship goes into a twirl, and R2 is beaten into "unconciousness" by Rocket Droids.

Anakin crashes, and is found by a lone huk warrior. The huk recognizes him as a Jedi, and offers a hand, but when Anakin reaches his base, he finds the battle has already begun. Even Anakin's aquantince Huk is slaughtered by Grievous who extracts his revenge on over three dozen Yam'rii. Grievous laughs maniaccly, but is contacted by TV, who tells him about Ki-Adi, and about the fleet. Grievous rushes to the Souless One and goes into space, leaving Ki, for the droids.

The Resolute's bridge fails and only Plo Koon survives. Plo contacts Yoda, telling him to get the backup jedi there as soon as he can. Ahsoka is isolated in space, and Obi-Wan is captured by Admiral Trench. Ki-Adi Mundi is beaten down by Droidekas, B1, B2, Magna Guards and Commandoes, and falls to his knees. TV opens the door, and reveals the operation is not covert, it is a full scale blockade, laughing, he sentences Ki to death. Sooner than expected, Saesee Tiin arrives, bringing a charge of clones. But even his starfighter is destroyed, and he is sent into space. Saesee puts his life mask on just in time, but is stranded- in space.

Act III: Plo finds Saesee and together they make their way from asteroid to asteroid, but are attacked. Grievous puts Saesee into a sleeper hold while Skakoan Assasin Koob Nash and Durge run up to Plo. Nash retreats, knowing the precense of more Jedi. Durge s flipped upside down but Grievous tackles plo. Plo uses his electic judgement to escape, but Grievous seconds it with his wristbound electro-pikes. Saesee takes on Durge, but the duel is soon over. Obi Wan escapes with Ki's help, and Anakin is forced away from helping the Huk, when they turn on him, blaming him for the death Ironically, Hyena bombers execute all of the Huks, then go toward Ki's location, to execute him. Plo and Saesee escape into the atmosphere but only Plo can survive the transition. Calling a gunship to carry him out., Plo prepares to rocket into the separatist base. He expells himself, free falling until he lands on a Hyena droid, deactivating it, he frees Ki and calls in Ahsoka and Anaking to help Obi-Wan. Anakin instead goes to the now separatist controlled Midnight Shadow, getting captured aswell. Plo screams his lesson of discepline at Anakin stating that he "Can't always" be a hero, but Plo too is soon taken down, by Huk. Saesee's reinforcments arrive, freeing Anaking but on Plo's orders, mercy killing the Midnight Shadow.

Anakin has the resolute loom to close for the separatist generals Trench and Mar Tuuk. They evacuate the front ship, leaving it ready to self destruct with two Jedi still in it. The come about, flanking the reinforcements. Koob Nash beats down all of the Jedi, and snds them rocketing to the surface in an escape pod. Anakin is still able to free Obi-Wan and Ahsoka from the Seps and begins retreat, but the Knights and Ki still hop to save Plo. They manage, but only Ki and Plo survive, Grievous steping forth, killing all the Huks, clones and Jedi. Th
