    My new skinning forte is picking characters that no-one else will touch with a barge-pole.

    That sounds like a really good idea to me! Just a note on any JO activity with editing, I'm thinking that perhaps we should stick to a skin pack as of right now. Unless we have some people here who have the know-how to mod the game (I have only the slightest ideas of where to get started with it) and haven't come out of the woodwork, that would be extremely difficult to pull off. A large scale project is all but impossible at this point, in my opinion, but a lower scale skin pack or something of the sort would be very cool.

    Yeah. That's my thought too - and maybe an MP Arena / MP level or two if we have any level designers in our midst.

    Scenario ideas
    Reasonably OK at creating scenarios for XWA battles - usually sticks to Canon/Near canon craft/believable craft (best to make it plausible, like my T-65C D1 X-Wing mod - "This rare specialist variant of the X-Wing replaces the laser cannons with ion cannons, and the torpedo/missile launcher with Ion Pulse Warheads. It is used for rapidly disabling ships for capture.")

    Custom Sounds
    Some sound editing experience, mainly sampling and implementing.

    Well, I am learning to do JK/MotS levels down, but it's coming slowly. At long last I do know how to make pillars. However, that's the least of my problems. I have a door that instead of rising up and allowing you to pass liek any self-respecting door should, when opened it races towards you, and if you don't jump outof the way will crush you against the opposite wall.

    I just don't get cog at all.

    Call that a "feature" and not a "bug" and you'll be fine. :p Some sort of Indy Jones type trap.


    Anyway, anyone want to Beta test my AT-AT Pilot?

    The feedback I need includes (but isn't limited to);

    1. Do the sounds work OK? (It should utilise the TiePilot sounds)
    2. Do the bots behave as you'd expect? I think I may still need to tweak the bots, I think it aligns with stormies, shadowtroopers & tiepilots, but not other AT-AT drivers at present.
    3. I need some good hi res screenies to edit together to advertise the skin when I send it to massassi.net & jediknightii.net
    4. Do the team colours look OK?

    If you do DL this & Beta test it for me, I ask that you re-DL it from massassi or jediknightii.net once I submit it there & rate it. :D

    Anyone who provides feedback will be thanked in the final readme.

    So here you go;

    Please don't give this URL to anyone outside this board - I want people to DL the final version from a JK2 site...

    The AT-AT driver skin is pretty good.

    1. Sounds work
    2. The bots did not act like they were aligned with me.
    3. I'll see what I can do.
    4. I found the boots and gloves distracting, you probably what to color something else for team colors. The helmet coloring is fine.

    3. Thanks. No problemm if you can't manage it.
    4. Again, suspected as much. It's hard to get a good feel when one is testing with low LOD models & low-res textures :(

    I might just put a coloured band on the end of the glove & the top of the boot & see how that looks, and maybe colour the straps on the legs and the aprons on the torso.

    Bah, I wish I could play JK2 :(

    Even if I hafta work all summer next year, I'm buying a new computer within a year!

    Oh, and I plan to do that with the door bug. However, now I have a door that just plain doesn't show up! People claim doors are the *easy* part of JK :confused:

    OK, Theron took some nice hi-res screenies for me (THANKS!).

    The above DL is still the original Beta, not the revised version, as I've still got to tweak the bots & re-PAK the files.

    Oh, and this is one in progress. The face isn't right yet. Not dorky enough. But I'm working on it...

    If anone wants to assist me, I need custom sounds for my Crix Madine and Aunt Beru skins; Preferably ripped from the movies, but I'll consider new self-made recordings if there's not enough to work with otherwise.

    Ahh well, while I wait for some voice talent, you might like to test out the (hopefully) final beta of the AT-AT Pilot.

    The bot's been tweaked, the team colours improved and a montage of Theron's screenies added to the ZIP.

    I just want to make sure the zip works for you all etc. If it does I'll drop the -b2 from the filename and submit to massassi, jediknightii and theforce.net/games ( ;) ).

    Or use custom commands from the JO console. Hit the ~ button to access the console.

    1) Load up the map of your choice under the console using "/devmap mapname" (to find a listing of all map names type in "/dir maps" )

    2) Use the command "/cg_thirdperson 1" to switch to thirdperson view (or use "P")

    3) Use the command "cg_thirdpersonangle X" where X is a value 0->360 degrees.

    4) Use the command "cg_thirdpersonrange X" where default is 40...less then 40, brings the camera closer to the player model, greater then 40 takes you further away.

    5) One last command you may like to use is "cg_draw2d 0" which removes all the icons at the base of the screen, like armor/health/ammo.

    (I got these off a quake site - the only one I've personally used is cg_thirdpersonangle 180)

    Couldn't you alter the Krussk skin? Add wings to it somehow? Or does it have to be on four legs?
