So I wonder how long it will be until they contradict themselves again with a new rumor, that makes this information seem unlikely as the Tomb.

 

No we know he's in at least one scene where he tells Driver "don't get too sentimental" as they're pointing the weapon at the Rebels.

What if the tomb is still in the play? We heard a lot of things like Luke is so powerful that he can do incredible things with the force etct., but these things seem now to happen offscreen between VI and VII. The same could happen with the tomb, maybe this attack on the academy had something to do with the tomb and the reason was to get this special broadsword lightsaber which can open the tomb. So maybe Luke disappeared after the academy attack to guard the tomb, so that noone can open it. Maybe all this stuff happens again offscreen, or will be handled in VIII. They may finally succeed in resurrecting the ancient sith from the tomb in VIII/IX.

 

Why? That would make no sense. Obi-Wan didn't face the Emperor in ROTJ. It was Luke's fight. This trilogy isn't Luke's story, it's Rey's.

 

yes it should be Luke's story still, at least in the first film. Luke is by far the most powerful. He should face the master, Rey should face Kylo. Luke still has lots of work to do to found a new jedi order, let's not put him out to pasture yet..

 

The OT was still a story about Luke/Anakin with Luke's heroes journey, so why cannot the ST be Rey/Luke's story with Rey's heroes journey? It would fit the previous structure.

 

I think we will get that and it also fits the original old ideas for the ST with Luke/his sister, instead it's Luke/Rey.

 

We will definitely get at least one hero journey in the ST, if not 2-3.

 

since evil multiplied, we will need more than 1 hero of course.

 

He tried to found a new Jedi Order. It seems like they all got killed and he went into hiding as the last Jedi. This isn't the EU. I doubt Abrams and Kasdan ever even read a single EU book.

And if the rumor of the Tomb. It was the episode between 6 and 7. Luke awaited the tomb. And the seven attacked the temple. Luke had to leave the tomb. And Uber was raised.?
