ST The Tomb.

IMO, Uber looking like a dead man is similar to Kylo Ren looking like Vader. JJ and co seem to be after a pair of villains that mimic the OT ones. The description of Uber could very well had been applied to the Emperor. Probably Uber get a cloak too.

 

This in the face that Uber was resurrected, star wars undeword, never wrong. Now who will be Uber? I think it's Plagueis.

 

Here's why I (personally) was hanging onto this "tomb" idea...

The current outline of what we think we know is disappointing to me because (story-wise) Luke would be ignoring and staying out of things that he used to try to help people with. I feel that the story in this movie seems to have so much stuff going on that's critical to the galaxy. Star system destruction, Han solo dying, etc. And, Luke just stays out of it all? In Empire, Luke came running when he foresaw Han and Leia in danger. He also led the charge to free Han from Jabba in the next movie. Why would he stay away in this one - with everything rumored to happen in this movie? Luke's character is defined by his determination to be there for his friends and to stare down evil and defeat it at all costs. The idea of him just sitting there on some planet - waiting for someone to solve a riddle and figure out where he is absolutely does NOT match his character - as established in the saga. I have visions of this....

Rey/Kira:
"Hello, Luke. Here's your lightsaber. I'm glad that we found you"

Luke:
"Welcome. I see that you got my message and figured out the riddle of how to find me. Wasn't that fun?"

Rey/Kira:
"Ummmm.. no. Han Solo has just been killed and an evil group of people is trying to take the galaxy over and blow up entire star systems. Your sister had to use a makeshift death star to try to stop it. Where the f@(# have you been and what have you been doing all this time?"

Luke:



Honestly, though... What has Luke been doing just sitting there. And, why? If they're going to give us a new Star Wars movie and promise a return of the original cast - only to leave Luke out except for like 1 shot at the end - they had better provide a good reason/explanation for his absence in the story. And, it should be one that fits his character.

Totally agree and it gives a very good reason why Luke didn't go and try to save them. Plus I really like the idea of seeing Luke having to defend without his lightsaber. It could be what Yoda should been in the PT's. Such a master of the force, his mind is his greatest weapon.

Right now, I believe the Tomb was a misinterpreted bit by a source and then a false source ran with it.

Let's let it run a bit longer and see if it still has any decent discussion left in it. If not, then we seal the tomb.

It would be funny if this Thread was closed; then the Tomb ends up being in the next Trailer.

 

That's why I think it should be left open until the trailer is released. Who knows? Luke could be living near a tomb on Skellig Michael!

 

Yeah, I guess there's no harm in leaving this thread open a little longer. Plus, you guys are on fire with the tomb jokes.

 

My vote is that we visit a tomb maybe Korriban in E8!
