I'll be fair and say I'm not proud of fact the Rangers have fared very well in the skills competition since its inception -thanks mostly to King Henrik. I wish the team didn't have to play so close to the vest in regulation all the time, and with Tortorella aboard, it looks like the Rangers go all or nothing every night. But I wouldn't be opposed to five-minute extra periods that reduced skaters on the ice after each interval.

Anyway, is it any consolation the Rangers peppered Pat Quinn's beleaguered Oilers' defense and Khabibulin with shots all night?

I noticed that Andrew Raycroft, who wasn`t good enough to play for the Leafs, has more wins this season than the Leafs do.

    LOLZ!

Going to the game tomorrow night. Hopefully they win. They don't win very often in Ottawa.

Leading 3-0 after the third; and 4-2 later on; they lost 6-5 in OT.

Even though I ridiculed the Leafs earlier about all their OT/SO losses, they deserved a point for putting up 61 (!) shots on Dwayne Roloson. Gotta tip your cap to the veteran netminder for single-handedly getting the Islanders the extra point.

Two goals for Kessel tonight. He now has 8 goals in 12 games playing for one of the worst teams in the league and has more goals than anyone on Boston. Yup, he definitely needs Savard to score.

It's amazing to see someone actually live up to expectations. I'll have my Kessel jersey in a week.

Man, Jason Blake. I respect the effort that he gives, and I know he's dealing with cancer, but he still seems to have lots of energy. The problem is he can't score. It's time to dump him.

Who said that? There wasn't any question in Boston that he was a legit 35-goal scorer. The issues with him were his maturity and his complete lack of interest in playing defense, something extremely important with the Bruins and their style of play.

Personally I like him as a player and hopefully now that he's where he claims he wants to be, he'll mature and develop into a more complete player.

Perhaps no one here said that but pretty much everyone against the trade used that argument. I haven't seen any issues with maturity so far and he made some good defensive plays against Montreal.

30 points in 40 games, 8 in the last 7. Not bad for someone who missed training camp.

Phil Kessel isn't what's wrong with this team. The forward unit as a whole is to inconsistant and doesn't help the D. The PK is horrid, the powerplay lately has been a joke. To be this bad you need a team effort. The Leafs are doing that. Kessel looks tired, but I agree the lack of a training camp has lead to the conditioning problem. They're going to have to be a lot better next year. This year is an audition for that 2010/11 team. Man that is depressing.
