It's the fans as well. Kaberle isn't the second coming of Bobby Orr and he's in his thirties, and his great 4 million dollar a year contract is done at the end of the year. So basically the Leafs are screwed again in some ways. I think they should re-sign him if they aren't going to ask him to waive his no trade clause. My thinking is that he'll be left to walk away and the Leafs will be glad to take the cap space for the 2011-2012 season. Watch him approve a deal tomorrow.
By means of his motor mouth, Burke has now painted himself into a corner. If he takes what Kaberle is actually worth, after all this, he will look monumentally stupid. He did this in Vancouver once, only in reverse. He wouldn't sign a quite decent draft pick, saying he wasn't worth what he wanted. Except Philly was willing to pay, and they did. Because Burke was unwilling to back down, the Canucks got exactly nothing for him.
Burke basically pulled a J.P. Ricciardi and overvalued Kaberle. I've always liked him but I feel his time in Toronto is over, especially now that Phaneuf is here.
He probably isn't what Burke wants; he says he wants a rough, tough team. His problem is that no one else wants Kaberle, either, at least at the price demanded.
As a fan, I hate it when your team gives up the tying/winning goal in the last minute of a game. It's so frustrating.
Hi guys. This next seven games in the schedule before the new year is a great oppurtunity to get some points. They should have a great chance to win at least 4 of them @EDM - Revenge game @CAL - Flames inconsistant @VAN - This will be a tough one to win ATL - Always winnable but ATL playnig well. @NJ - Jersey not very good this year CAR - Neither is Carolina CBJ - Tough game
Leafs were snowed in after the New Jersey game, of all the places to get stuck. They'll be back today though.
