Typical Michael Bay blockbuster. The Dinobots are cool but they could have had more screentime. Once again they used another character rather than Megatron/Galvatron to be the antagonist.

I think the creators are the Quintessons.

Also what happened to that blonde assistant of that bald guy? I went to the restroom during the movie and didn't see her in later the end.

Bravo. If only the movies had as much heart as that little sketch.

    I always loved this line:

"It's not guard duty, I'm a Guardian! Of an entire planet! ...and I'm significantly understaffed!" [face_laugh]

Lamest comeback in the movie goes

    "Where is your warrant"

    "My face is your warrant"

    Like really?

Even as bad as Transformers 4 may be, Optimus Prime still remains the silver lining as his character remains pretty much noble, heroic, inspiring and badass.

Except the parts where he repeatedly verbalizes his intent to kill humans and abandon the planet that his promise to never abandon was the entire point of the third film. Or the part where he executes prisoners in the second film.

That said, at least the character violations in this film gave him some kind of character arc- which is difficult to say about anyone else.

Well that's quite understandable after what the humans did to him and his kind.

It's easy to say but hard to do when they slaughtered so many autobots. Especially he was ambushed by the government, the leader of the humans.

It's understandable but Prime shouldn't waver that way.

"You never bend, you never break, you seem to know just what it takes."

"You're at your best when the going gets tough, you've been put to the test but it's never enough."

    :)

Overall he did little harm to the humans, I don't think it's a big deal.

The Quintessons are going to show up in the next one I think.

It's fortunate he didn't do more harm, but that doesn't change his intent.

Compare to what the humans did, I don't think Optimus is the one who should take the blame.

I'm not really blaming him- clearly Frasier and MIB are at fault for their heinous actions. I'm just saying, as distraught as it might make him, Prime is not the "vow murder" type outside of extreme battle circumstances.

If he'd be reluctant to kill Megatron, I can't see him being proactive in encouraging the murder of humans.

I watched an eleven minute video on YouTube made by someone in the theater. I don't remember if it was clips edited together or just eleven straight minutes from the movie, but I fell asleep during it.

given that he was in the midst of an all-out holocaust (kelsey grammer = adolf hitler, guy from lost = heinrich himmler, stanly tucci = josef mengele combined with steve jobs), i can partly forgive this take on prime.

the point is this: michael bay wants you to know he's proud to be a metropolitan redneck who loves his country but hates his government.

Honestly I wouldn't care if the Autobots left and just let the Decepticons annihilate all of humanity. Humans have had 4 movies to learn Autobots=Friends and they forget it at the beginning of each movie.

Given that the perception of "all Cybertronians must be eliminated" is derived mostly from the actions of only some Cybertronians and that it is that perception that has led to the deaths of his comrades, I would think Prime, above anyone else, would recognize and try to break that cycle- not fault the human race due to the actions of a few, no matter of powerful.

to be fair, i think that is just bad writing and bad editing. there are characters in the movie that are pro-autobot, and are working under the assumption that cemetery wind is only going after decepticons. thomas lennon pops up as the white house press secretary trying to get the president a photo-op with optimus, and Stevil Jobs' assistant is actually a bit disturbed when wahlberg informs her that ratchet was actually an autobot.

they have short attention spans...they also forgot about the giant battle in los angeles that involved face-hugger steering wheels and homicidal mountain dew machines. :p
