FF:NZ The Trilogy comes to TV3?

Was just watching Malcolm in the Middle on TV3, and during the ad breaks I was surprised to see Threepio suddenly pop up.

The scene from ANH where Threepio argues with Artoo about entering the escape pod on the Tantive IV played. Looks like the trilogy might be coming to TV3 (I'm pretty sure it was in widescreen, too).

Woohoo!

 

Yeah i saw it too really strange.

 

I remember they did a campaign like that a few years back for a new series of Xena - they kept showing X's in the middle of the ads, and you thought "What was that about?" Finally they added the words, "Xena- coming soon".

Wow, I can't wait. It will be so cool to see them back on TV again.

Cant wait.. only prob is how they taunt u... specialy if it is like that Xena add... Lets hope they play it 8 hours straight at the same time as EP1...

 

Hey.. just about 10 secs ago, i missed it *poodoo*, but i heard it from my PC, but on 3 I heard the Music from the Saber Fight in the Death Star II in ROTJ... Lets hope we get to see alot more of these tantilising images... and not b @ our PC while its on huh?

 

Another ad during CSI. Vader and Luke fighting in ROTJ, Luke flips up onto the overhead catwalk. Looks like it will be the trilogy, and not just ANH.

I actually hope they *don't* play them all at once. That can be done with videos anytime. If they're all played on different nights (like, they could have a SW month with the one of the movies playing each Sunday for a month), they'll have a better chance of getting good ratings (and maybe create a few new fans ).

 

Okay, I can see this becoming a new New Zealand fan force sport - TV3 Star Wars clip spotting!

ROTJ add was just on its funny I own them all on video but its cool to watch them with other people

 

oh cool, i thought i was going mad or something when i saw that.......i thought they were planning to show TPM too....thing is, is it going to be SE or original, i'd like the originals, as i have the SE on tape

 

Were the SE's shown on TV in the states??

Not sure if TV have the rights for Original SW, I remember some comments the last time SW was shown on TV that it was the last time they would be able to show them as the rights were coming to an end. Not sure how factual that is but my guess would be SE. I gotta watch some more TV and catch up on the ads

 

I have all the origanals on tape the ESB and ROTJ r off the tv and I got a ANH video from the video shop for $3 second hand.

I hope they r SE as i have only seen SE and TPM once on the big screen thats it and im cheap and havent brought the videos.

 

I'm pretty sure it'll be the SE. The quality of the image looked like SE, plus I don't think they'd hype up the original like this (since it has been on many times, although not for awhile).

 

You'd probably find that George Lucas has "outlawed" the showing of the non-SE versions.

If you've got the non-SE versions on tape (like me), look after them, because it's doubtful that they'll ever be seen again.

 

Okay, I'm watching TV3 at the moment (7:30pm) in the hope of seeing these clips.
*sigh* the sad life of a star wars fan.

i've even had a malaysian vcd of tpm, got it almost immediately after it finished in the cinemas here...allegedly anyway

i have original versions of ANH, ESB and ROTJ on video
great to see the differences

did have the SE in the flat too but the other flat mate left

You would think with 4 sets of trilogy vids plus a VCD set, I wouldn't care about the TV version - but I think I'll tape it anyway. (theres something about watching it with ads)

 

Don't forget about the annoying TV3 logo in the corner too.

You'll notice that they (and TV4) turn it off for the adverts! That's because the companies paying for the advertising wouldn't put up with it, but we the poor "customer" have little choice. TV shows should state that the channels are NOT allowed to do it to their shows either.

 

maybe if we were super lucky TV3 would play it without any adverts

personally i liked it when the movies had intermissions in the middle
