Great movie. EP2 stands as my favorite of the year, but I wouldn't be here if I wasn't a Star Wars nut.

"Thought it was great" for me. I also thought FOTR was good.

But I still don't like it as much as I like Star Wars.

I completely loved it, but AOTC was the year's best!

I love TTT. It's on my favorites list. I think the Battle of Helm's Deep was beautiful. However, I myself prefer FOTR to TTT. Maybe it's just me, but I think FOTR had more of an "adventure" feel to it. We also get more beautiful visuals and better character developement in FOTR. The TTT Extended Edition might change that though.

I'm with you ST-TPM-PMS-STD-whatever :), I thought Fellowship was better in character development and visuals. I did love TTT though. Better action in TTT {obviously}, and Treebeard was very well done. I thought poor old Faramir got the rough end of the poetic license though. Gollum is great, but I'd like to have Sam refer to the slinker/stinker side of him more though rather than seeing the schizo goings on that we did.

I think the design team that worked on Golum did a great job. Those people paved the way for more realistic looking characters. It may change special effects for the better.

It was great, but as a book nut, I was disappointed in some parts. (but all the Legolas and action made up for it) ;).

    1) Um, I don't recall Elves ever going to Helm's Deep

    2) Éomer doesn't come to Helm's Deep's rescue... he's there the whole time.

    3) Haldir died needlessly.

    4) They didn't finish the whole Legolas/Gimli Uruk killing contest! :p

    5) Faramir & Treebeard: WAY outta character...

    6) Since when does Arwen head to the Havens?

(And a Random note concerning the elves again): Okay, Haldir says that he brings "Word from Elrond of Rivendell." HELLO!! Haldir's from Lorien!! :p

But, like I said, the action SO made up for it all!!

I'll read the book, and if I feel like it I'll see the movie. Eh, we'll see what happens, without having read the book I am not motivated to see the movie at all.

    It was great.
RotK will undoubtedly be great as well.
Maybe I'll read the books after seeing the last film.. Maybe.

Just a note to you two: If you're gonna start from the beginning, be warned that the first half of Fellowship is boring! But it totally gets better, and TTT & ROTK are awesome reads! :D

Ew man don't read the books, I didn't need to read them and I loved the LOTR movies, since I'm a movie fan not a book fan of course. They're too good of movies to have to go out and buy books to see them, these are the movies, better cgi use than SW but ya kno...no way is it actually better than SW. Anyway, great movie I saw it twice which is sad to say more than I saw AOTC in theaters since I could never score a ride back to the theater any time after I saw it the first time.

I'm a big fan of LOTR, and I happened to enjoy TTT more then FOTR. I have read the books, and have disagreed on a lot of the things that they took out or put in TTT, which was pretty much my only disapproval of the movie. Other then that it was great...

Voted the 2nd option--4 stars. It continued the visually stunning epic sweep of the 1st movie, which I still prefer because it was the first. I liked TTT for Gandalf's return the best. Really looking forward to ROTK.

    Two words.....

    HELM'S DEEP

:D That scene made the rest of the movie worthwhile....though... *sniff* why did Haldir have to snuff it? :(

I don't mind most of the changes they made for the movie's sake, but the Ring should neve have gone to Gondor. That was dumb.

I really liked the cineamatography (is that how you spell that?) for the whole movie, but they put an edge of humor in that I don't think the book contained...not that that's a bad thing...

I loved The Two Towers and I think the charector who had the best plot was Goluim/semguel. I can't wait for the Extented version on DVD.
