    Lincoln actually made sure he was in a coma before Easter so his soul could confront the Holy Spirit in righteous combat, such that he might kill the commie bastard.

    My personal favorite is that woman's suffrage leads to polygamy.

    Yes, but every single other item was something featured some element that, conceivably Christianity or conservative Christians would not approve of. Whereas, for instance, there were no facts about how devout one or another President was. It's sort of hard to argue there wasn't a pattern to be inferred, which the Lincoln thing then ruined.

    The second fact certainly, and insofar as I can tell the first, are often cited to disprove the notion of the US a "Christian" nation. That is, it proves how very recent the embrace of religious pageantry by White House actually is.

    These two are suggesting all the presidents before them are bad Christians for not having those respective things.

    The pattern's there, bro. Only the Lincoln one makes no sense.

    So there are media reports circulating that Eric Cantor plans to resign altogether later this month. He's a lame duck Congressman following his defeat by Brat in the primary and has already resigned his former Majority Leadership post.

    Isn't the House planning to sue Obama?

    Did they forget that he was a Constitutional lawyer before he went into politics?

    I like the Andy Borowitz take on this: 'House drops intent to sue after Obama says lawsuit is a good idea.'

    Ignorance is divine. Obama needs to stop thinking his book learnin' in constitutional law means he knows more than God's Own Party about constitutional law.

    Individual senators and congressmen (from both parties, mind) have tried to sue presidents before based on the idea that they've exceeded their authority. The courts generally toss those things out because a handful of people who don't speak for the whole of Congress can't sue on its behalf.

    So in theory that means that Congress could sue to defend its prerogatives... maybe. Might have to be both branches in concurrence. And even then the Court might say "lol this is your problem, go fix it like adults."

    But that's still different from a suit about the president not doing his job, I think.

    Yes, while simultaneously insising that he needs to bypass Congress and "fix the border" himself. 8-}

    Then they can sue him for that one too!

    The U.S. economy has now added over 200,000 jobs per month for six consecutive months. The last time this happened was in 1997.

    Also, May’s totals were revised up from 224,000 to 229,000, while June’s figures were revised up from 288,000 to 298,000.

    I asked him once, and he said yes to the first and fourth amendment, but declined to respond regarding the past one.
