It was only a little over a year, Cobra, and no - it needs to be 5 years continuous residence, meaning less than 6 months spent outside the UK in any one year. So my 2007 stint in London won't count towards my permanent residence (but my NI contributions from then will count towards a state pension, if I ever make it that far ).

 

Brexiteers are ****ing little ****ers who can **** right off, basically. The uncertainty this idiotic ****storm is placing us under. I'm so angry that if I had my way, I'd chuck all the Brexiteers out of the country. To be replaced with more immigrants.

 

Somehow I doubt state pensions will make it that far, or beyond the next government, but oh well

Interesting article in the FT today on rights for EU citizens here and UK citizens in the EU post brexit. Not sure where things are with Spain's threat to deport all the Brits there unless they get their own way over Gibraltar but it seems a fairly ticklish business even if that's resolved.

 

Like to see the future of Spanish the tourist industry, when Brits and all expats are no longer there.

Did you see anyone famous on the march?

 

My face actually got suntanned a little bit! Didn't see anyone famous in the crowd, but there were several prominent speakers (most notably Tim Farron, Nick Clegg and Alistair Darling - those I knew), plus Sir Patrick Stewart sent in a video with a short speech.
