Defence Secretary Michael Fallon resigned after he was named in a leaked Tory blackmail list as having had sexual harrassed a female journalist and having had an affair with a male MP.

I know a few stories from my time in politics and Fallon won't be the last person to resign.

I knew a female researcher, whose MP would smack her arse and ask her how to get porn on his phone. This guy is yet to be name by the press, but his name is on the list.

Sky News says Fallon's replacement should be named soon. They are speculating whether May will go for a reshuffle or just a replacement.

Edit - BBC News - Gavin Williamson, Chief Whip, named as new Defense Secretary.

If May is still PM by January, I'll be amazed.

I couldn't think of where else to put this and most people won't know him.

    BBC News.

A British aid worker kidnapped last month in southern Nigeria has been killed and three others freed, the Foreign Office has said.
Ian Squire, an optician, was one of four Britons working for a medical charity in the Niger Delta when taken.

Ian Squire's Opticians is located in Shepperton, Surrey, and I've been going to them for years. He fitted me with my current pair of glasses back at the end of May. Since I haven't been there since I wasn't aware of his kidnapping. He and his firm did a lot of charity work in Africa.
Article says British and Nigerian officials got the three others freed but not him.

I know what I'd like to have happen to the people who did this but I'd have to ban myself if I said it.

My condolences to his family, friends, and co-workers.

I hadn't seen anything about this in the press so I'm not sure if it was reported at the time. Pretty sure he was married but I don't know if there were any children.

Edit - article on the Telegraph's website says the kidnapping happened on Oct 14.

I expect him to survive, but part of me is starting to wonder if Boris has finally landed himself in a hole he can't simply buffoon his way out of because it's so very bad.

Boris will survive, for now. There is no one to replace him.

Looks like Priti Patel might be for the chop after her meetings with the Israelis. She was ordered back to the UK from Africa today by May.

Patel and May are at Downing Street. Several sources are saying she might resign rather than be pushed out. #Prexit is being used on Twitter..

Edit - Sky News is reporting Patel has resigned.

Good riddance. Patel was more right wing than some posters on this forum.

Mays government is a total shambles

And we still have Boris as Foreign Secretary and David Davis messing around with Brexit

    Don't forget Fox.

Hmm, what's significant about that specific date?

General Elections are, historically, quite common in February. Plus, I don't expect the government to survive much longer.

Ah, thanks. Thought there might be more to it.

I'm surprised it's lasted this long, but the bigger problem is no good replacement - though I'd rate Starmer ahead of Davis for negotiating Brexit.
