Why would being in a Labour ward please you? You have a particular fondness for shortages?

Conservatives in my area are just UKIP in disguise.

As long as it's either Labour or Lib Dem its an improvement.

Improvement being comparing a vomit sandwich to just vomit.

At least I'm getting bread at the moment.

    You 'ave bread?

EDIT: Decided to do the postal vote after all. More of a principle protest as Rees-Mogg takes the country over the edge.

    This is hilarious:

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/may/03/eu-plans-to-retain-westminster-offices-former-tory-hq

"The EU plans to defy Tory Brexiters and retain its offices in London – the former Conservative central office at 32 Smith Square – as an outpost from which to communicate with British citizens after Brexit, leaked documents reveal.

High-profile Brexiters had called last year for the EU to hand back the large red-brick building that was previously Margaret Thatcher’s headquarters and the scene of her general election victories.

The European commission and the European parliament jointly purchased the Westminster building for £20m in 2010 after 50 years of Tory ownership, and renamed it Europe House."

The Brexiteers wish to seize legally purchased property from the EU? Good luck on that.

At what point, @Jedi Ben, would we say they've been possessed of adequate common sense or even bare minimum common sense?

Where you been Ender? We've been long, long past that over here for about two years now.

And yes, the madness started with Leave stating within hours of their very narrow win that the '£350m for the NHS' line was total bollocks and remained teflon in terms of consequences for it ever since.

I was just responding to your near-surprise at their behaviour over the former Tory HQ.

Well, I think I might have been allowed to think that the Tory party would be upholding property rights, yes?

    As it turns out: Nope!

Well to be fair, it's just Brexiteer Tories, no? Who are barking mad but slightly less mad than Labour Brexiteers who are somewhat in the closet on their Euroscepticism.

Yep, no bar is too low! Which given where we are is more than a tad cause for concern.

Still, that Oz trade deal is already written, right?

In contrast I'm wondering if the Lib Dem gains indicate a measure of voter forgiveness?

I'm reading about the Anglo-Dutch Sea Wars, and I came across a cool quote by our nation's leader at the time (1666), Johan de Witt.

"England is a nation that never acts according to reason or fairness, or even to her own interests, but only according to her capriciousness and miserliness".

    So Brexit.

To me it looks like things are broadly unchanged from 2017 - From what I'm seeing with the local elections, if there was a general election, I think we'd have another hung parliament with Con the largest party.

The only real difference seems to be the Lib-Dems recovering a bit. Difficult to know who that would impact most in a general election but my guess is probably Labour...

It does appear we've past Peak Corbyn so Labour have some big decisions to make over the next year or two.

Con WILL change leaders in 2021 IMO. They question is will Labour.

I think she has an official one as Queen for celebration purposes and a personal one.

Still less in London in a year than in the US in a day.

US is much larger than London so a lot more potential there.
