    Week VII online.

Desperation has set in, so don't expect a masterpiece.

Ewok Poet and I will now compete to see who can sound more downbeat about our drabbles, over the next weeks. :p

So I go into carbon freeze for few months and everybody gets delusions of starting without me! Game on.

Looks like for the first time ever I'm actually falling behind on this thing. But don't worry. I'll catch up.

So, um... with one thing and another I'm embarrassed to admit that I've now fallen behind by twice as many weeks as I've actually written. [face_blush] I do plan (and very much want) to continue, but at this point I almost certainly won't be able to catch up to the point where I'm current with the most current prompts. My question is: does that put me out of the running in any way? There doesn't seem to be anything about deadlines in the opening post, so I'm guessing there isn't one, but I did just want to double check.

Thanks, and sorry for the trouble! @};-

Nope, there really isn't a deadline. You get bragging rights if you manage to finish them all in the 20 weeks, but because there are no winners, there is no deadline. It's just a big challenge.

That's kind of the great thing about the UDC - you can start whenever you want to start and chip away at the prompts at your own pace. The twenty sets in twenty weeks is just for bragging rights, like mav said, but there are no hard and fast rules about deadlines or anything of that nature. This challenge is simply a way to inspire the muse to write. :D

That said - it's fantastic to see so many people still going strong! I need to jump on the catch-up train, myself.

So, with that thought in mind, here we go with Week VI in my SW thread, and Weeks II & III in my NSWFF thread. :)

(And welcome, brodiew!! I was wondering when this challenge was going to attract your notice. I can't wait to see another drabble thread up and going. :D [:D])

    And week 8 is here.

In UDC VII, I started late and then took a whole year to finish. Keep plugging away.

Week 1 is in the books. I may need a refresher on the link mark ups.

brodiew You don't have to use the markups to imbed a link. You can type what you want the link to say (so like "Week 1") and then highlight it and click on the thing that looks like a chain in the row with Bold, Italics, Underline, etc. It will then ask you to paste the link you want that word to take you to.

If you do want to use the mark up codes, at the very top of the forums to the left, there's a button that says "help" (it's to the left of the same row that has your screen name). If you click on it and then go to the one that says "BB Codes" it will tell you how to do any of the markup codes. It's handy to know where that is for a refresher on any of the markups. How to do a link is the 4th example.
    I hope that helps!

Weeks 7 and 8 are up in my NSWFF. Week 9 is going to have to wait because rhyming in French and in English, WHILE GETTING TO EXACTLY 100 WORDS, was not easy on my brain.
