August/September Challenge

This challenge is to be about a master and a padawan. It can be any kind of story or poem. They lyrics for this to be based on are Mutha by Extreme. I felt like a back to school challenge this time around. You don't have to include lyrics, but you might score brownie points if you do! Please include the following words in bold in your story backpack and apple.

I'm gonna try to get in on this challenge. With any luck, two months will be enough time for me to be able to slam something down on the computer! With the number of visitors we've had this year, that's not definite though. Keep on rockin!

October Challenge

Here is the challenge for October. I want some serious romantic stuff. The lyrics are to Anytime. I don't care who the romance is between and these can be all original characters. I'm just in the mood for love.

I knew there was a thread I was missing desperately! Any chance of this getting resurrected for the near future?

 

Greetings, lovers of all things hairband! There wasn't a lot of interest in last month's challenge, so I thought I'd try something completely different this time.

In honor of Guns 'n Roses' (well, all right, it's not really GnR, it's just Axl's band )latest album, how about something from the golden years.

Your song and lyrics? Estranged off the Use Your Illusion II album. Write us stories of heartache and woe. I'd like to see stories of failed partnerships, like licorice and liver, or pickles and limburger cheese. Those can be romantic relationships, or Master/Apprentice repudiations. Feel free to have your protagonists make up in the end, or not--whatever you prefer.

Get those creative juices flowing! I'll give you till January 2 to send in your submissions. As always, stick to the TOS and if you have any questions, feel free to PM Hairband_sock.

I think I have an idea that might work with that. If I have some time over break, I'll try to throw something together.

I've not actually written a songfic before, so I'm curious if I have to use all the lyrics. The character I'm focusing this on isn't 28, mainly.

 

Hi SoA! In some challenges, I'll give you some lyrics you need to use in your story somewhere, but not this time. This challenge, you just have to follow the general theme of the song Estranged. So what I'm asking for this time is a story of any length where two main characters fight/argue and go their own ways. If you like, you're welcome to resolve their conflict, but that's not a requirement.
