    Yes.

Unless Batch goes down this week. Then I take the credit and/or blame for that, too. :p

Yeah didn't this happen last time Ben got hurt, where the backup got hurt immediately too? I mean not that I'm complaining.

And speaking as a Vernon Davis fantasy owner, I'm stoked that Kaepernick is apparently the starter for the 49ers now. Less stoked if he starts giving them momentum through the playoffs, but still.

Obviously. If Detroit loses this it's on the NFL.

I'm at work so I was just guessing from all the bitching on my Facebook feed. I haven't seen any football today.

Houston had a runner who was totally down, knee and forearm on the ground with a Detroit player touching him. No ref blew the whistle, so the ball carrier got up and ran all the way down for a TD. Of course no one stopped him because he was down.

Lions threw a challenge flag, I guess forgetting that all scoring plays get reviewed. Apparently the rule says if you challenge an automatically reviewed play, not only is it a 15 yard penalty, they also don't review the TD anymore. So... I have no idea why. It makes absolutely no sense.

Therefore, Detroit just lost because the rule is insane and because no freaking ref blew the whistle when that guy was as down as anyone has ever been.

Yeah, that was the play. That really sucks for the Lions.

I agree that was a bad call, and that throwing the challenge flag = no review is idiotic.

But the announcers are right. Detroit gave up that 97-yard drive to tie it, and then blew a couple of chances to score at the end.

agree that detroit should have still won, but that was the stupidest rule i've ever heard of.

this is the first time i've been able to see rg3 play in the pros. fun to watch so far.

The same thing happened in the Arizona/Atlanta game last week. You can't review any ruling 'against' a team that commits a penalty that delays the next snap.

yeah, but this was an automatic booth review and would have been overturned, and the only penalty was schwartz throwing the challenge flag because he forgot he didn't actually have to. i mean, i didn't see the cards/falcons game. maybe that exact thing did happen.

well then it's still a ridiculous rule that has now tainted two games. seriously, why is it a penalty to throw a challenge flag when a play is supposed to be reviewed anyway? it's not delaying anything. there would be a delay anyway. just tell the coach to pick up the flag and carry on.
