Bills are a lost cause.
Alabama saying 'no' to NFL teams interviewing Saban.
Raiders could trade McFadden.
Juliet, I'm just wondering....do you have any opinions of your own about any of the stories you post? I mean, I visit NFL.com too.
He WAS a great football player. He's washed up now, which really isn't surprising for a 37 year old linebacker.
True. Even last year, he was above average. But, in his prime, there were only a handful who have ever been better at his position.
even washed up he's better than a lot of the others.
So Andy Reid was all ready to fly to Arizona today, but Clark Hunt and company flew out to Philadelphia instead and had an 8 hour meeting with him. Evidently he's considering the HC offer and may not even go to Arizona. Talk about going after someone.
The thing is, Reid might well (please God) want Pioli gone if he were to come here... but I'm still pissed that Clark didn't just fire the guy outright. I can't believe Clark is such a rube and Pioli such a huckster. How does anyone listen to this guy? The fans aren't going to give a crap who we have as HC if Pioli is still here. If Hunt can't see how specifically hated Pioli is, how much all of us SaveOurChiefs people detest the man, the fact that Pioli will waste our draft once again if he's here, the fact that many people such as my family who are 23 year season ticket holders categorically will not renew if Pioli is still GM.... he deserves to the inevitable running out of town he'll eventually get along with Pioli. Seriously, Clark, have a spine and fire the guy.
Not a good start, but I'm hoping that this lack of interest is due to AEG's upcoming sale (which does make sense, for the powers to be of a franchise has to know who specifically is going to be running things out here before committing to moving here), as opposed to anything else.
So Reid is close to taking the Chiefs job.
Bills are talking to Lovie
Cards are interested in Haley again.
Am I missing something?
Oh yeah... GO REDSKINS!
RGIII consoles Romo after game.
As much gloating I've done this week, I'll admit this is a classy act by our QB.
Edit: Colts give Bears permission to interview Arians
So calling your own QB classy isn't gloating?
No. It's giving props to a guy who took the time to at least make sure his opponent was okay after the loss. I could name a few HCs that have less class than RG3 did.
Too classy for some. Here come the "he's not black enough" morons.
You mean Rob Parker's talking again?
The NFL playoffs as compared to Lord of the Rings
A "washed up" Ray Lewis is still better than most in their prime. His passion for the game is still amazing.
I'm all for Andy Reid, that'd be a much better hire than I expected. I'd prefer a new GM, but if this hire bails Pioli out, and we still win, fine. Perhaps Geno Smith becomes McNabb part deux.
Andy Reid leads Cards to championship would make him a great sports figure in Arizona.
Andy Reid leads Chiefs to championship would make him a god in KC.
Going to the Chiefs is the obvious choice.
It's Andy Reid though, so of course you mean "to the conference championship game."
Cool with me. Vermeil went something insane like 29-3 over two years in the regular season, and Trent Green flopped at the first sign of trouble in the playoffs. Can't speak for all fans, but Vermeil is a legend in my book. He took a washed up Rams QB and former Ravens backup RB and built a prolific team with Al Saunders and Gunther Cunningham as coordinators. If Reid can replicate his Philly success, and stop the bleeding that started under Herm, he will be just fine.
Well I don't agree with you at all about Green flopping. Not at all. In fact when you lead a team to no punts in a playoff game, you've done a pretty damn good job. We lost because we had no defense. We had the best offense in the league and Green was the #2 rated QB after Manning. He was also a great leader. But yeah, I loved Vermeil and what he did except not having a defense.
I will not be happy about Reid if Pioli is still here. The draft and free agency are as important as coaching.
Oregan coach Chip Kelly expects decision on NFL to happen quickly.
ESPN reports Pioli is out. Fantastic.
Andy Reid is the Chiefs head coach now, pending contract approval.
Guys. Stop talking about coaches and stuff.
Let's talk about Rex Ryan's tattoo.
