From the flow of the thread, looks like to Baltimore Orioles not moving their game so the Ratbirds could open at home on Thursday night.

I'm with Tunick here. Big whoop. Move the champs game to Sunday Night. I highly doubt NBC would be too unhappy to have the first SNF be Ravens-Steelers on Sunday night. Then do another big game on Thursday to open the season.

They are going to play the Ravens game on Thursday, they are just going to make it an away game for the Ravens. I would prefer just making it the Sunday Night Game as well, but that isn't what they are going to do

Right. I know that they are going to play the Ravens on Thursday on the road. Which I think is stupid. Let the champs open at home with a ceremony.

I agree. It should be a home game. I like your idea better. If I was a Ravens fan and ticket holder, I'd be angry.

I went to the Giants home opener in '08 celebrating the Super Bowl, it was great fun. They should not deprive the Ravens fans of that experience.

ESPN is reporting it's a five year deal.

They're also reporting that the Broncos may go after Dwight Freeny to replace Dumervil. Which may have ultimately been the plan all along.

What kind of money did Dumervil get?

Freeney and John Abraham visited Denver shortly after the Fax fiasco. Not really "the plan all along", but it's been the backup plan since someone screwed up.

Teams always have contingencies in place. They knew they were going to tell Dumervil he had to take less money. There is always a chance you will lose the player when you do that. Now, what ended up happening was insanity, but the contingencies would be the same none the less.

CBS is reporting it's $41 Million

Edit: I'm guessing it's probably best to wait a couple of hours until all sources agree on where the money falls.

True, the important thing in NFL contracts is always the guaranteed money anyway. That's the only thing that counts

Darrius Heyward Bey will be visiting with the Colts today. He's got okay size and speed, but he can suffer from a case of the drops from time to time.
