My man Belichick taking it to everyone today with his press conference. It's even better than a "we're on to Seattle" kind of conference that I hoped for.

 

Now I just hope, likely in vain, that's the end of it.

 

Hahaha this will not end for months. Maybe by week 3 of next season.
Media day is going to be an abortion for the patriots.

 

Did he explain how identical balls were deflated on one side in 91.77% of the balls? Clearly the Colts didn't have the same "issue" in the same conditions while, presumably, also preparing the balls to league standards with the exact same refs?

 

He certainly gave more of a detailed explanation of how they prepare the game balls, PSI stuff, etc. breaking it all down in great detail, and shared the things he's learned about it from the team doing it's own investigation this past week. This is way more than the league and media "sources" have come out with, who still only have speculation and have shared nothing about their investigation. He also flat out said that there was no attempt on the team's part at altering the balls, and unless it is proven otherwise, it's time to move on. The media of course, being what they are, will not let it go and will continue to milk this for all it's worth.

I has been 8 agonizing days of dealing with inflategate and I haven't moved one inch from my original position: If they used balls approved by the officials then the critics can go bleep themselves. If they tampered with them after-the-fact (beyond the scuffing which is permitted), then they should have the book thrown at 'em.
