    I know the famous 1983 draft had #1 and #2 traded IF you allow for the fact that the Colts selected Elway #1 overall and then traded him something like 1 week later. Beyond that I can't think of any examples offhand, but really don't know.
    Panthers were in a tough spot. I think it was the right move. IMHO, he really is not the type of player you want to have disgruntled, forced to stay on your team against his will.
    Couple years ago, they had 2 1st rounders and they selected Trent Richardson and a 29 year old QB. That's why they keep having high 1st rounder picks. :D
