Lit The 'Union' comic is one of the most fun, cheesiest, ridiculous SW stories I've ever read

Geez, so mushy, but I would be lying if I said I hated it. On the contrary, I loved reading it, every page of it!

I didn't know half the characters in the story, since I I'm not a big EU reader (I've read some books here and there), but that didn't hamper my enjoyment.

It certainly helps that the art looks very nice.

What do you think of this romantic SW story?

I for one would definitely have liked to see that artist more. The story is a great, uncluttered romp--in fact, I'd say stories like that are why the term "romp" was invented.

Seconded. It's a pity it hasn't been included in any of the comic compilations.

I got the 30th anniversary collection edition myself yesterday. It looks quite classy.

Yeah, Teranishi did some great art and then... vanished from SW!

I was thinking of the Omnibuses:

    http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Omnibus

for example, Mara Jade: By the Emperor's Hand, was included in the Shadows of the Empire Omnibus- and I was wondering if Union, and others, will be included in subsequent ones.

True. That would be neat. I have the Shadows of the Empire Omnibus. One of my favorites!

This one is seriously underrated. I remember when I read it I had heard it mentioned, but nobody ever made a big deal about it. It's basically "Much Ado About Nothing" in space! With all the novel cast! How often does that happen? Not nearly enough!

I haven't read Union in forever, but I do recall loving it for getting so many EU characters together (Talon Karrde! Hobbie! Empatajayos Brand?!) and having fun rather than having The Next Big Threat.

...I really oughta read it again.

The Bachelor's night out was the best part and Mara with Leia and the ladies at a spa was...shall I say...quite interesting.

I have never heard of this but you have my attention. Anyone want to tell me if it's available from Dark Horse before I delazify myself enough to check?

Yup. Believe me, it's worth it to see Chewie with a keg. :D

Does the keg contain the same kind of beer I just spit at my screen? [face_laugh]

I liked it, but I had issues telling who was who? The art was nice, but the faces weren't distinct enough from one another, especially when you have Luke, Han, Wedge, Tycho, Janson, Hobbie, etc. all in the same scene together.

This is true. But when in doubt, Kam is always Bruce Willis.

There is not nearly enough visual art of Kam. Or Tionne. But especially Kam.

I think I checked it out from the library once as a kid, but I thought it was boring at the time. I wish they still had it. May buy it eventually because it looks quite fun.

Union was actually one of the first things I read in the EU, after Tales from Jabba's Palace, the Hand of Thrawn duology and I, Jedi. I loved it, unreservedly. So much cheese, it's like a good pizza!

Hey at least Kam got a comic and an NEGTC entry and Tionne got an EGTC pic. I still wanna see Kenth Hamner.

...good grief. I really can't say that's how I'd pictured him at all. I'd always imagined more a Chance Kelly in Generation Kill type.

Guys! @Bly apparently doesn't know FOTJ. Do a bro a favor and don't introduce him to it.:p

Good grief, let's not and say we did. I've been reading over the post-LOTF-related threads I've seen on here. Made me more than a bit leery of those books. >_>
