What I take away from it is people deliberately under-starring stuff because they know it will attract opponents. Seems we're all learning a lot about each other's behavior, rapidly.

I'm surprised we haven't descended into the underbelly of "my congressmen could beat up your congressmen" argument.

Oh, I'm aware of the jolly old parliamentary fights from back in the day. Just hoping no one is recommending them now.

In case anybody cares, Rick Saccone just conceded to Conor Lamb.

One less seat for the Democrats to flip to take control of the House in November.

He'll have to run again in November. There's been cases before of a Democrat flipping a seat in a special election, and then losing it in the general.

Complicating matters even more is that there will be a new district map in Pennsylvania by year's end, so not sure which district they'll be running for by then. The new map is fairer to Democrats so hopefully Lamb will hold on to his seat, but November is still a long ways away.

All true, but it’s still a piece of good news. And the new seat Conor will be running in is far more favorable to Democrats than the one he just won.

Feel the need to vent. Apologies. I'm hurting right now.
Don't know where else it's sanctioned to post this by TPTB...

I get triggered by self righteous, typically right wing christians assuming that anyone who dies and is their family member automatically is exonerated and is "safe" etc...heaven and all that, wheras people who might not just blindly accept one religion are doomed. Also, the concept and implication that those who think for themselves and aren't indoctrinated are damned.

Meanwhile, some self proclaimed christians are free to object to "trigger words" even and recieve love and affection for their bigotry and hypocrisy. I'm just really confused about this and it is distressing.

In any case, no offense to anyone. It only seems the rules should be fair to everyone here, and not favor the narrow point of view of the christian holier than thou attitude, as this only engenders sadness, frustration, and even, god forbid, anger amongst those who are stifled.

Jesus seemed to accept people, from what I read, not damn and judge them. Nor did he make erroneous assumptions about the afterlife. [face_thinking]

    Apologies if I've offended anyone.

No surprise here. Ryan Costello (whom I’ve met and spoken to) stands to lose his seat under the new map, and of course Pat Toomey is a partisan hack.

But wow, what a bunch of sore losers.

In other news, the budget being voted on today in DC will lift the ban on using federal funds for gun research, but no ACA stabilization bill thanks to GOP efforts to further expand and codify the Hyde Amendment into federal law. Oh, and Stormy Daniels on 60 minutes on Sunday. Good times.

^ Yes. But I’d still fork over some bucks to see a Pay-per-view of that event.

If nothing else, Biden messing up Trump’s do (and Trump’s reaction to that) would be more than worth the price of admission.

This might not be such a bad idea. Maybe it will let some of the tension out, and allow things like compromise to make a comeback.

    Or not.

The head of Trump's legal team just reigned:

    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...as-trump-s-top-lawyer-in-mueller-probe-report

And rumorville is swirling that Ty Cobb will follow him out the door. Just as a reminder Dowd & Cobb were Trump's best attorneys.

Between this, the student march in Washington DC (which again Trump will be golfing in Florida for yet even Richard Nixon found the time to speak with anti-war student protesters in 1970, let that one sink in for a moment) and Stormy Daniels unleash on 60 Minutes...Trump is going to be unglued by Sunday Night/Monday Morning on Twitter. Should be good.

I look forward to your regular updates about Trump's life throughout the weekend.

@Lord Vivec was right, it's like having our own Alex Jones on JCC.

I don't know if this is like public knowledge and I just missed it or if this hasn't really been covered that well, but Charles Harder, one of Trump's lawyers in the Daniels case, is one of the guys that basically shut down Gawker with the Hulk Hogan lawsuit. I think I mostly saw people making fun of his name and the fact that he's on a case involving a porn star, but I find his history with the Gawker suit to be way more significant.

Some small good news in the budget deal: The NIH received a $3 billion increase. There's a $23 million increase to the Maternal and Child Health Bureau at HRSA and an $800 million program level increase at CDC. Small victory for public health at the federal level.
