I felt the Canucks played a very good game last night, as they owned both of the first two periods. Things got a little too dicey in the 3rd Period, when the Blues scored two ? but both were power-play goals (as was their first goal) and I felt the Canucks got hosed on a number of questionable calls in that period.

Game 7 goes tomorrow at 7:30 PM PST, and I planned to be glued to the TV for the proceedings.

 

Well after the shameful display by the Leafs tonight I'm going to go back to the TV to hopefully watch the Canucks kick some butt.

In less than two minutes, it's going to be Vancover vs. Minnesota.

Down 3-1 in the series and the Canucks come back to take it; it doesn?t get much better than that, IMHO. And what a game too!

[face_confused] Perhaps, it was a good thing that the [b][color=darkblue]Canucks[/b][/color] didn?t win the Division, as now they don?t have to face the talent-laden [b][color=darkmagenta]Avs[/b][/color] along with a [b][color=red]red-hot[/b][/color] [b]Peter Forsberg[/b]. [face_silly] But we do have to now face the trapping [b][color=darkgreen]Minnesota Wild[/b][/color]; however, I have a feeling [b]Bertuzzi & Co.[/b] will blow right through ?[i]The Trap[/i]? like a blow-torch through butter. We won!!! I don't even watch hockey that much..

But we were slammed in the restaurant tonight. I finally got home (at 11)...ALIVE. Thank the maker for the TV in the kitchen...we didn't miss a thing.

That was a very entertaining game. Hopefully they'll be just as physical against those rookie kids from Minnesota. Teach them how real men play hockey.

It's rather amusing you two bicker over which is better, Colorado or Detroit, when Vancouver has outlasted them both.

In other news, my Kelowna Rockets have a playoff record this year of 11-0-0-1, and they got the most poitns in the regular season by a large margin. Can't beat the Rockets!

Wow! What excitement! The Canucks tie it up with 1.2 seconds left in the 3rd Period! I hope the Canucks can pull this one out of the fire and beat the Wild in OT.

Just some quick personal thoughts on the game so far....

The Wild play an absolutely brutal and unexciting brand of hockey: very defensive, use of the infamous ?Trap? (clogging up the neutral zone), and a lot of man-to-man coverage.

I thought the Canucks? goal in the 2nd Period that was disallowed, actually crossed the line. Too bad Fernandez?s water-bottle obscured the overhead camera.

The Canucks caught a lot of break and great bounces (a couple of shots off their net?s posts and crossbar).

The Wild forwards play very low in their end. Look for the Canucks to turn that against them by sending the puck back to their defensemen for point shots (this already starting to happen with some frequency).

Okay, OT has started, so I?m going to head back to the game.

EDIT: I also think the disallowed goal crossed the line, at the end of the roll. Fernandez should be beat over the head with that water bottle for that.

The Rockets also won their game today, so they're facing Red Deer in the final.

Sadly, I missed most of the game yesterday, except for the last 10 minutes of the 3rd, because of work. But it did look like a decent game and it sounds as if the Canucks played well and put forward a solid effort. It was though, yet another close game with only a goal difference separating both teams (for the 3rd time); I imagine much of the series will be like this. N-E-ways, the next game is on Friday at 6:00 PM PST.

In other Canucks news, the NHL revealed the finalists for its major awards today, and Markus Naslund is one of the three finalists up for this year?s Hart Trophy (MVP to his team)! Congrats and good luck, Markus!
