If it seems like I wasn't around the boards this weekend it's because Mrs jedimika and I took a long weekend and visited Vegas. She's been before but I've never been. I'm not into gambling but I was eager to see some shows. Of course Vegas found a way to get me to drop some credits in the slot machines...I saw this at the airport when we arrived...

Star Wars slot machines! OMG! I must find them!

We stayed at the Luxor and after checking in I wandered the casino floor.

Hey! LOTR slot machines...pretty cool, I'll give those a try.

    What? Star TREK? Khaaaaan!!

Success! My hotel had them! But do they take Republic Credits?

    Yes! They do!

Between the Star Wars and LOTR games I played more slots this weekend than I ever thought I would and they seemed to be pretty popular with other players as well. Some early success meant I played with the casino's money most of the weekend before I dipped into my own funds the last day. The Star Wars game had sounds and sound clips and movie clips from the Star Wars Ep4 Special Edition (so no Yoda but they did have Boba Fett) which I approved of although I have to wonder what Sir Alec Guinness would think of his likeness and voice being used for this purpose.
I didn't care so much about winning as I wanted to play the bonus mini games which were fun

and if you got a big win (which I did once) they show the clip of Luke blowing up the Death Star. Pretty awesome stuff.

And although I joke about the Star Trek slot machines I respect that they stayed with the Original Series.

And then just when I thought I was done for the weekend there was a whole bank of the Star Wars slot machines at my departure gate at the airport. Vegas just had to get that last little bit from me.

Those look super sweet! I wasn't a big gambling fan either until I played a SW slot machine.

I have played quite a bit on the LOTR slots they have at Horseshoe. I really like those because you can actually make progress and save it as well, which opens up more bonus games for you when you return.

    Sweet Boss! Great pics.

Yeah, I'm not much of a gambler either (except horses, but that doesn't count-- that is just supporting our local economy). I was at another work thing in Reno a few years back-- and those machines were EVERYWHERE. I ignored them, till I found a Rebellion themed one. Last day I was in Reno I gave it a try; and LANDO was the voice! I lost that first 5 dollar bill, and put in a 20 (just doing what Billy Dee said) and wound up 60 up. I cashed out while I was up.

\Honest. Billy Dee! "You're doing great!" "Ahhh too bad" "Luck be a lady!"
