Title: The Voice of Experience

Timeframe: About 35 years before TPM, so Qui-Gon is about 25 years old
Notes: Written for the Crack Pairing Challenge because I never would have written this pairing!


The Voice of Experience


Qui-Gon slipped into the door he knew would be open and waiting for him. As always, he reached out with the Force, making sure that no one noticed him or where he was going. It should be safe, at this hour the corridors of the Temple were mostly abandoned and quiet. A sly smile tugged at his lips as he anticipated the hours ahead. Attachment was forbidden, but they were not exactly attached, just?close. Their relationship was a pleasant diversion for both of them, a brief respite from the burdens of being a Jedi.

As the door slid closed behind him, he heard the soft click of a light and the small chamber was bathed in an ambient, golden glow. She sat there, her dark hair spilling around her shoulders, those sharp, intelligent eyes drinking in the sight of him. ?I was wondering if you were going to show up,? she said in that slightly imperious voice. He remembered that tone well from his days as a Padawan, when he had suffered his first boyish crush as he watched her with adoring eyes as she would walk right past him, unheeding of his feelings. Thankfully, those days were long gone.

Now she noticed him, now there was an answering heat in her eyes. He smiled and moved forward, letting his cloak fall from his shoulders as he approached her. He was wearing only leggings and his boots, with not even a thin tunic to cover the breadth of his chest. She liked him to come to her like this, a naughty secret hidden beneath his cloak. She smiled approvingly and crooked her finger at him, beckoning him closer.

Gracefully, she came to her feet, her hair providing a rich contrast to her pale skin. Her eyes glowing with welcome, she opened her arms and he moved into them with a sigh of relief and longing. Just holding her in his arms was enough for the moment, feeling the reassuring warmth of her body pressed to his. His big hand came up to cradle her face and he placed a gentle kiss on the soft skin of her cheek. ?I?ve missed you,? he whispered. ?I didn?t think my last mission would ever end.?

She smiled and turned so that her mouth was pressed against the beating of his heart. ?But you?re here now,? she murmured. ?That?s all that matters.?

He laughed softly and picked her up in his arms, whirling her around for a moment. Her laughter was quiet, lending a note of sheer joy to their reunion. ?You know I wouldn?t miss this,? he assured her. Then he brushed back her hair. ?You get more beautiful every time I see you.?

Playfully, she struck his shoulder. ?Flatterer!? she accused with laughing eyes. ?Do you not see the new wrinkles that appeared while I waited to see if you would return safely or not, my fine young lover??

Tenderly, he pressed his lips to the fine lines beside her eyes. ?I see only you and your open arms,? he confessed. ?Besides, you?re not that much older than me. I think it makes for a rather interesting time?? He leered at her and she shook her head at him, though he sensed her amusement.

?Then come show me the advantages of youth,? she purred, her voice husky.

He picked her up, cradled her against his chest, felt her heart leap in response to his actions. ?And you may demonstrate the wisdom of the experienced,? he teased, grinning broadly when she immediately looked thoughtful, as if contemplating what the lesson should be tonight. ?We have all night, my love,? he whispered, and then he grimaced. ?Or what?s left of it,? he amended.

Her arms wrapped around his neck as he carried her to the bed that sheltered them in their stolen hours together. ?We shall make the most of every moment,? she promised him.

Gently, he lowered her to the bed and smiled. ?Now, my lovely instructor,? he murmured. ?What shall our first lesson be??

She looked up at him and gave him the look that all the Padawans of the Temple feared, her frown gathering on her forehead. Loved the Mrs. Robinson line and the one about what he had on (or didn't have on) under his cloak too. Naughty Nu.

 

I don't know what's more disturbing. The pairing itself, or the fact that it makes perfect sense. So much for breakfast.
