Before I get any futher, here's a quick run down:

Anyone interested battles it out in a range of games (for example, Mario Kart, Jedi Outcast, Halo, Marvel vs Capcom, really any multiplayer game be it shooter, sport, fighter, racer or puzzle). There's a top 5/10 from each game, and as we go along through the titles, the points rack up to determine the ultimate gamer on the FFWA boards, and WA in general.

Every platform known to man is supported, as long as everyone has the required elements (games, control pads, Lan cards, and so forth), starting at the top: PC, Xbox, Ps2, Gamecube, Game Boy Advance, SNES and Genesis, arcade, etc.

Now before we burst into a huge war over who's the best, I wanted to know who has what (PC's, consoles, games, etc.), who would be interested in the above, and anyone who has any further ideas in terms of how to run the comp and where/when it can be held. Since time isn't always friendly to many of us, there's the possibility of splitting up the compo over a few weeks, and depending on the game held, different venues.

That's the basics of the idea. Let everyone you think would be interested know, since the more that take part, the better the entertainment.

If anyone wants to commit to battle on a Commodore 64 in "International Karate Plus", I'll dust off the old fingers... :D

Actually, if anyone's got a Tekken 3 or Tekken Tag Tournament console version, I could train myself up...I was okay on the arcade machine...

Well, since there seems to be an interest now, I'm up for Alpha 3 and Mario Kart, maybe JO (although not on my PC).

And if there's anyone with a GBA, I'm all for anything on that too.

By the way Jarris, where did you buy the N64? I've been looking for somewhere that sells cheap N64 controllers and games for ages. EB sells some games at $49 for God's sake. Crazy!!

I got it second hand at cash city pawn store in cannington. GB (Games Boutique in cannington) has a red and grape see through.

I often look at Cash Converters for good quality stuff, and then take to the surfaces of games and consoles with my bleach and pine o clean mix to get rid of yuck stains.

Ill have a look while Im out for any more N 64 stuff and let you know what I find. I still need to chase up rumble pac/memory card etc...

I'd love to get involved, but with work and family commitments I'm lucky if I get out of the house once a month to see a movie. For the record I've got:

Megadrive, N64, PS2 and a rapidly aging PC (going on four years now)

If anyone knows of a megadrive 2 for sale somewhere could thy let me know, mine has kinda died and I'd love to get a replacement.

    Thanks Stinky,

My MD2 had a run in with a child moving at high speed, it seems they are not built to handle much weight.

    btw: how do you tell if its a md1 or 2? I suspect I have a md1..
But I saw a md for sale in valhalla not too long ago.. (expect an outragous price though) :( but it might be a md2.. (I cant remember seeing any box, manual or controllers from memory, but u dont need em I would assume)

They look completely different and the MD2 has MEGADRIVE II on it somewhere if I recall. The original had switches instead of buttons and the 2 had red buttons, there was an updated MD2 that had blue buttons as well I believe.

Mine must be md2 then, its got the 2 red buttons..

Was the only difference between 1 and 2, the ability to support the mega-cd?

I'm pretty sure they both support the mega-cd, I could be wrong though.

heh, what a waste of money that would have been ;) I got a sega promotional video for the mega cd.. The games were really no better than ordinary megadrive games (except some had some low res streaming vids off the cds)..

As for my Md, I want streets of rage 2 :( that game was cooooool...
