The following is entirely true. This is milney's actual week from Friday the 29th of May until now. Rant begins now...

Last Friday was a particularly good day. I was assigned as the stage assist in the TV studio, so it was my job to keep camera cables in order as well as take care of general business on the floor. The entire crew worked well and we did a professional job, resulting in us finishing the two hour shoot in just over one hour.

My flight to Brisbane was very fast and smooth. I have to say that the cabin crew as flight deck personnel on both flights did an outstanding job. I met up with my brother at the airport and we drove to his apartment.

The next day I met up with my girlfriend and we attended the wedding of my cousin, which was absolutely superb. The entire occasion was very fun and afterward, my girlfriend and I headed out to do some shopping before we went to visit her family for dinner. Dinner was fantastic (it was tacos) and we spent a couple of hours laughing about cool stuff.

Sunday came and I drove back to the Central Coast with my brother in his new Mazda CX-9. A very nice car, the seats were comfortable. We drove along the pacific highway with stops every hour or so for amenities stops. We also stopped at the Big Prawn and the Big Banana, always good for a photo.

So far, you may have noticed that nothing bad has happened. We continue with the account from Monday onwards...

I traveled on the 9am train, which unfortunately included a drunk guy who asked me every couple of minutes if I had a smoke. Unfortunately, the other passengers were also getting this question repeatedly. This continued all the way until Central, where I got off the train as quickly as I could and changed to the Airport line. As I arrived at the Domestic station, I noticed that my left pocket was lighter than it should have been. I checked it's contents, only to realise that my mobile phone was no longer there. I apparently had left it on the previous train.

Now, being in a mild panic, I contacted CityRail who informed me that my chances of getting it back were 'not good' and I should call them back to see if it has turned up. Me, being the emotionally stable person I am, began to go to the check-in counters while thinking of how many things I actually use that phone for and how bad this really was. My address book, schedule, reminders and alarm clock were all gone and I had no way of contacting anyone if there was a problem.

The optimist in me allowed some calmness to intervene and after a few minutes of waiting, I boarded my flight to Wagga Wagga. All in all, it was rather uneventful, except for the two cabin crew who were very nice and friendly. Then, just after the landing gear was lowered, my week took a rather bad turn.

A sharp, stabbing pain had appeared behind my left eyebrow. This was so bad that I actually hit the flight attendant call button. Sitting in extreme pain, we had just landed before the flight attendant was able to safely leave her seat and assist me. I was not in a very good state, so they got out the emergency oxygen. Then, noticing I was shaking uncontrollably, they wrapped me in a few blankets to help counteract the shock.

A doctor somehow happened to be in the terminal and she attempted to diagnose what was wrong as an ambulance was called. I was helped off the plane by two ambulance officers (Adam and Brendan, the latter of the two was a RAAF Medic). I was put onto oxygen inside the ambulance, then given 10mg of Morphine for the pain and 1000ml of fluid to rehydrate me.

We arrived at Wagga base Hospital, where we waited for 3 ½ hours before I was admitted into the ward (apparently Monday is a bad time to go to the hospital). During this period, I was administered another 10mg of Morphine as well as a drug to prevent me from vomiting and another 100ml of fluid.

The diagnosis was that I had incurred a SupraOrbital Headache, possibly brought on by the change in air pressure and a thickened lining of my left sinus. This diagnosis was followed by a visit to the lavatory, which was des

Glad to hear things are on the up, but its not an experience I'd like to go through.

I've got all my contacts etc on my phone, but since its a Palm all the information is synced to my work and home computers. Triple redundancy ;)

Whoa! That sounds horrible!! I know how horrible the lumber puncture is, had one and it was so not pleasant. I hope you are on the mend now and hope you never have to feel that bad again!! I'm guessing you canceled your last phone so it couldn't be used. What a horrible start to your week. [:D]

Yeah, I've canceled the old sim card so my phone number is the same.

And I am on the mend. Just have lower back pain due to bruising now.

I read it on Facebook. Man, that sounds like a trial. Hope you're on the mend.

    Lumbar punctures are nasty *shudder*

My iPhone is synced to my computer and backed up (old list admittedly) on the external HD ;)
