This is by far the best WH title ever =D=

I'm sad that I was on vacation when this opened, though. Also, who the hell are the people?!

Do you believe in Cliegg's Blue Leg, the Insane Rebel Knights, the communion of Obi-Wan., the forgiveness of bad jokes, the resurrection of the thread, and sandosness everlasting?

    Amen.

BTW Craig... I found your box of stuff :) Yeah, after like a year and a half of my parents telling me "We checked EVERY box". Well I decided to have them let me into the attic. Lo and behold, they are filthy liars.

PM me your address and I'll send it to your parents. I forgot your house number and zip code :p

I do my best to provide a post-modern mixture of success and failure in every post. I'm doing pretty well with the last part.

So I was just reading through version 5 for some reason, and I came across this conversation (7/27/05) that I held with Obi-Wan and Jocasta Nu (my socks) at like 4 in the morning. I think I was on crack.

LIAR!! ...I'm engaged to Grievous *hic*! Re...remember...'Thou shalt not...shalt not bear false mittens...against thy neighbor's wife.' Unless he's...homoseckssssual. *hic*

Whhhhhhhho let you in enniway, Diapers? BARKEEP!!!

That just pretty much sums up the essence of the brilliance of this place. BTW, I had completely forgotten the "Obi-Wan's engaged General Grievous" joke [face_laugh] Who started that?

Well, I'm fixing to completely fail the GRE tomorrow :) The verbal sections should be fine-ish. But the math section... oy. I just now started glancing over a review of the math for it, and you know you're in bad shape when you say to yourself, "Ooooh that's how you solve quadratic equations!" [face_hypnotized]

It's not *my* fault I had algebra II EIGHT YEARS AGO! Why exactly is this relevant to film school? WHY?

Oh jeez. :( Quadratic equations... I've forgotten everything. And I need to take the GRE within the next couple of months too. I haven't studied at all. But I agree with you, the math stuff is ridiculous.

I wouldn't be too nonchalant about the verbal section, though, when you're using "fixing to" in your posts. [face_plain]

And now I'm off to Canada. Again. Whose idea was it to leave at 6 in the morning? Ugh.

Stupid Canada *shakes fist*. And I'll fix to do whatever I please, thank ye kindly.

    Well, I got a 1400, so I guess that went all right after all :p Not as good as my SAT but it's fine. Surprisingly I got 700 in both math and verbal, which is nuts. They'll be mailing me my writing scores in a couple of weeks. I expect that to be good. It felt a lot like writing a JC post to refute someone's stupid argument ;

Vraiment.... btw, I'm going to have a funny time in France. I can still think in conversational French (even if I can't spell it :p) but my vocabulary is rusty. I'll be practicing out loud, going along, and then I'll just stop because I've forgotten some simple word... maybe Greg and I can try to continue our convos while I'm still in England.

BTW, Greg, guess what? I just found out that in Scotland we're staying at the University of Edinburgh! So I will be sure to do some reconnaissance on those tricky Scot school things for you.

Well I managed to do all right on the math, actually, even though I honestly felt like I was taking semi-educated guesses more than anything :p I really was shocked I got a 700 considering I didn't even finish and half the questions I was scribbling out entirely new "mathematical" strategies to "solving" things ;)

Not bad, sj! My proudest academic moment came when I got an A in my final semester of biotech capstone...after attending a grand total of 3 lectures. :p I didn't even stay the whole time, either. Which goes to show that you should never study.

Where are you going to film school?

Er, you know I'm not planning on going to the University of Edinburgh or anything, right? :p That was my first choice for study abroad last spring but Sussex had more linguistics courses. But I [face_love] Sussex, so no regrets here.

And yes, we should try to continue the French convos, although once I'm in LA the 8-hour time difference will be a nuisance.

Also, good job on the GREs. I hope I can get a 1400 too. You'll have to give me some tips. Do you know how long it takes for them to send out scores? And how early should I register for a test?

PS: The package hath arrived. Merci! It's like Christmas again. :)

Whoops, was that not the... ? O:)

I thought you were thinking about Edinburgh for grad school or something. Maybe I'm crazy :p Also, where is it you're going in the Spring? Isn't that somewhere in the UK?

I registered online for the GRE about a week before I took it :p Obviously you can register farther ahead than that. They give you your scores instantly, although you have to wait a couple weeks for percentiles as well as the writing score. So I'm still waiting on those. As to tips on how to take the test itself... herm, well, read through the GRE's website descriptions of the sections. I tried using their practice program but it wouldn't work on Vista. Maybe try that, it's free on their site. I just wound up reading an old hs vocab packet and reading over some random GRE math study site online. Not even the whole thing... I didn't start studying until the night before, and maybe I should have started earlier ;)

Okay, I guess I won't stress out *too* much about taking the GRE, then. I'll get an early start on studying and aim for taking the test in October... that should be early enough for my scores to be sent to the universities I'm applying to, I assume.

And I'll be applying to Boston University and McGill University for grad school. *Maybe* UPenn and University of Toronto... Next spring, I'll hopefully be studying in Paris. My classes will be at the USC Center in Paris and at the Sorbonne. I can also take courses at the Institut Catholique if I want.

I'll be following your blog closely. Keep me updated if you have free time to chat while you're over there.

    lol

The weather this year has been crazy. First we have one of the snowiest winters in over a 100 years, then a drought in springtime which fortunately prevented any flooding from the snowmelt but instead caused a few forest fires. And then an excessively rainy summer with extreme and unusual storms, producing flooding, tornadoes, and hailstorms. Our flooding, tornadoes, and hailstorms may not be nearly as bad as those in the Midwest, but they're extremely unusual in this area of the country.

Yesterday we had an insane hailstorm that lasted for a good 15 minutes or so. It ripped off a whole bunch of leaves and sent them flying through the air onto our yard. A few photos:
