I couldn't think of a suitable antonym to "heartbreaker", so there's no clever title for this thread, but the idea is simple. What win by your favorite team over the years felt the best?

Ohio State over Miami for the National Championship.

Red Sox over the Yankees in game 7 of the ALCS. I loved that better than beating the Cards in the Series.

Games 4,5,6,7 of thr 2004 ALCS were incredible. And when the sox won the world series... man. that was awesome.

Patriots winning the superbowl in 02 against the Rams when no one gave us a chance...that was sweet.

Uconn men beating Duke in the '99 NCAA championship was awesome also. Not quite as good as the other two, but still pretty sweet.

Texas A&M beating Texas this year because technically they are still the national champions even if its not the same QB. Its also great because we haven't been able to win in Austin in 12 years.

I was rooting hard for the Buckeyes that night, but even I thought the Hurricanes got screwed.

    Doesn't look phantom to me.

And besides, if Interference hadn't been called on that play, a vast majority of the talking heads who are calling it a blown call to stir up fan bases and saying Ohio State got lucky would be stirring up controvery calling it a horrible no call.

The Red Sox win over the Yankees in the ALCS. So much more fun to watch than the World Series itself.

And since I can't pick just one, all of the Patriots' superbowl wins this decade!

    I strongly disagree. [face_mischief] :p

The best night was the 2005 Elite 8 game.

    Illinois - 90
    Arizona - 89

Big comeback and the win in overtime.

    Grrr.

    From this season, Wide Left.

From the last couple seasons, finally beating Florida and Tennessee last year.

And in basketball, I'll always remember USC's win over Cincy back in '97 or '98, when Cincy lead from the first point scored until the clock read 0:00... and lost. Down more than 20 early in the second half, Carolina staged a steady comeback and then won on Antonio Grant's buzzer beating 3.

Also, USC's pair of victories over Kentucky in '97.

    First, the call was right.

Second, everyone seems to forget the bad call on third down, when the Buckeyes had converted on 3rd down. It was incorrectly called incomplete and we had to punt the ball back to Miami, who then scored to send the game to overtime. Had the refs gotten the call right, the Bucks would have run the clock out and Miami would have lost in regulation.
