I would Cobra, have you ever read anything by Sherrilyn Kenyon?
Nope, never even seen anything by her. Recommendation?
Yep Sex but no Anita-style whining
What's not to like?
Then again, I think blood is quite sexy, so I'm weird like that
And Nat, I'll have a look, see if I can find anything
Cin, I agree with you.
Poor flechettes. Nobody loves them
NYCitygurl, please remind me never to go out with Cobra. Oh, sure it might be interesting, but I have the feeling it would end with me giving my signale, which I don't have, so I'd have to come up with one. Also, DG might be jealous.
So Cobra tells me that the next book is coming out in a couple weeks I'm so excited
Well, Carey's site says 12th of June, so I'm guessing it's out then
Chapter One's also up on Carey's site, if you want a sneak peak
I read it. I neeeeed it now
[hl=black]I really hope that Ysandre doesn't give them a lot of trouble; something tells me that they'll be getting plenty of that from Melisande.[/hl]
So, where do you think they'll end up this time?
I wouldn't be overly surprised if they went extremely far out of the way, like Ch'in or Bhodistan, or slightly closer but not explored yet, like the Chowat, Ephesium or the Ummaiyyat. It would be funny if they accidently discovered America
I would like to see just Terre d'Ange, politics and sex, but that's just not going to happen. The hardback is 672 pages, and I don't think Carey can go that long without a large scale adventure
The farther they get from home, the less I like it, generally. I'm not sure where they'll end up, but probably in Italy (spacing her name for it). We know that Melisande'll be back.
By the way, I saw it on a bookshelf yesterday
Gah, I can't even find it on Amazon yet, for a decent price, anyway
And Melisande disappeared from La Serennisima, remember. I doubt she'd still be there, considering the standing orders for execution. She's probably in Ephesium. It's where that Unseen Guild bloke was from, IIRC, and it seems like they'd protect one of their own.
As for further from home, I agree on the count of Dart, which was the best, but Scion was only in two countries, and that was boring as hell in Lucca, nearly as boring as Avatar in Saba.
Possibly. But I don't see her going as far as Saba or that place Imriel went last time; she's somewhere in the "civilized" world.
True, that wasn't a great book.
I just finished re-reading all 5 (damn that was time-consuming), and due to my extreme lack of patience, I ordered Mercy from Amazon marketplace. With any luck I should have the book within a week. Then I shall be extremely content to read what exactly the wonderful, horrible things are going to include, and whether Imri can actually perform them satisfactorily
I ordered mine from the library (hardcovers are too expensive and I only have the first one, which is in paperback) but they haven't gotten their copies in yet, so it could be a while.
Haha, expensive. Here, the paperbacks cost £7.99 ($16) and the hardbacks cost about £18.99 ($38). I don't think the US can beat the UK for expensive
Geez. That would seriously kill my book-buying habit.
Have you tried Jacqueline Carey's sun tea? I have.
Double post lulz.
Got the book today. I'm 200 pages in and so far my reaction is [hl=black]DO NOT WANT!!![/hl]
Well, not really, but still, it's very much a case of [hl=black]aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh[/hl]
Tis odd though.
Warning, these next highlights actually contain spoilers, unlike my previous two random insanities
[hl=black]Like, ooh, magic. Aaah, Imri is so funny. Aww, poor Sidonie. Haha, Melisande is awesome. lol@Imri not being Imri anymore.[/hl]
Finished. All I'll say for now is...
Mine hasn't come in yet
Dammit. I can't find anywhere on the internets to discuss it
