What are some of your guys' least favorite sports cliches? Mine has to be the "If you submitted it as a script, it would get rejected for being too unrealistic" line.

The "nobody believed in us" nonsense that seems to come around every so often.

    I want to thank Jesus/God.

It was nice when they thanked their mom/dad.

Pretty much anything that athletes say in post-game interviews.

This, along with associated things such as 'only looking as far as our next game'.

Hockey teams at the end of games saluting fans now at centre ice. It used to be the Rangers only, now it's spreading. Is this the NHL trying to get more fans?

Saluting fans? How, or should I ask?

The first time I heard that one I went "Huh? Oh...... that's horrible. Just horrible."

I still think its horrible, for the record.

DQ-ed, as in disqualified. I've heard it a few times so far in the NCAA tournament this year when a player fouls out.

The home team gathers at center ice after the game and all raise their sticks. It's pretty simple and takes about 2 seconds. The Sharks do it after wins and most fans don't even seem to notice as they are all suddenly in a rush to leave. Personally, I like it.

No one has mentioned giving 110%? That's the worst, most overused one of all.

After the lockout, Jagr and other Rangers who played in Europe the year prior brought over the practice of standing in center ice and raising their sticks to the fans after wins.

Footballers always applaud their supporters after the game. Great practice, IMO.

Yep, I agree. I like it when players appreciate the fans.
