yes he Harassed me in the thread I made about my move to Punta Gorda Florida, I put a whole bunch of people on ignore who thought I was making it up but I have since proven my self truthful with photos,

I wouldn't call that harassment. That's kind of how we roll here--we do tend to make jokes, etc. Truthfully, I seriously doubt anybody cares about where you live. We didn't need that wall of photos in this thread, for sure. jp isn't one to "harass" people. He may have made a joke or two, but if you're going to continue to post in community, I strongly advise you to lighten up and try not to take things so personally. Anyway, this isn't the thread for this sort of thing, so I'm just going to let it go. I suggest taking him off ignore, though, because you posting things that have already been posted is going to get old.

So, 2 weeks until the new mini-season begins, and I have only just watched the final of Season 2 (and that's after skipping a few of the Occult Freak of the Week episodes). So much for my marathon rewatch. :/ Guess I'll just have to jump in like almost every other person in the world, and hope there's enough refresher material if the new mythology ties into the old.

 

I heard they're not going to do much mytharc stuff . . . apparently they think that the monster of the week episodes aged better than the aliens episodes. I'm inclined to agree, actually.

 

Yeah, I think the first and last are myth episodes; the middle four are Monster of the Week. I like both styles of episode; the problem with the myth episodes was when they started trying to actually make sense of them. Those first few seasons had some great myth episodes because they were willing to just leave things hanging and embrace the ambiguity. Later, they started trying to actually tie everything together, which was impossible because they had been so ambiguous and open-ended in the early seasons. I don't mind some continuity, obviously, but there was no real effort to make The Erlenmeyer Flask from season one tie directly to Colony/End Game from season two except to have some of the same themes and to reference the previous episode. I mean, I liked that; I like having a loose consistency/continuity without getting too anal about it which both the show runners and the fans ended up doing by the time the show was over. The black oil doesn't necessarily have to tie to the green blood which ties to Mulder's sister which ties to the Bounty Hunter which ties to the Syndicate etc etc. There could be many different alien/government cover-ups going on in my opinion and I think that works better than being explicit about everything. Those episodes are certainly more entertaining when you're not combing through them for loose threads.
