Other Special Features: Believing, at first, that his mutation was a punishment and not a gift, Brother Nick spent time as a flagellant, and he still bears the scars of a whip across his back, along with more recent wounds from when he is forced to do what he finds unacceptable.

Personality: Extremely reverent and with an almost fundamentalist fervor...to his version of Christianity.

Weapons: None, but he almost always has a Bible with him.

History/Background: Only a second-generation American, Nick soon inherited a deep Roman Catholic education from his parents. He proceeded through the majority of his life rather normally, albeit, never eating meat on Fridays and waking early on the weekends for Mass. Some portions of his Catholic upbringing had negative reprecussions in his social life, such as a potential girlfriend dumping him when he refused to let her have a chicken salad because their date was on a Friday, or when he could not attend a childhood friend's sleepover party because he would have to be well-rested for Mass the next day.

It was no small wonder that after his graduation, Nick went on to the seminary. His parents could not have been prouder when he announced he would be joining the Franciscans, "An Italian's Order."

He always dismissed it as coincidence that people died somewhat sooner than expected after he laid his hands on them during the Sacrament of Anointing, but only about four years ago did he realize that it was because of a mutation. He shook his younger brother, Vinnie's, hand at his wedding, a good, long, firm handshake, looking right into Vinnie's eyes as his eyebrows started to turn silver. He looked up and saw a few hairs turning gray on his brother's head. He let go, shocked, and ran away from the wedding.

A few days later, Nick's trusted physician confirmed it: Nick was a mutant, and it was painfully obvious what his power was. After weeks of punishing his body and praying and reading the Bible, he came to a conclusion: Jesus' miracles were not the result of divine fatherhood, quite the contrary, he was simply one of the first recorded mutants. He soon came to believe that other mutants were simply more Christ-like than normal people. He left his order, mistaking the Brotherhood of Mutants for a mutant-oriented Christian Order.

Although he was wrong, he found many of their ideas to fit his idea of correctness, and he happily joined their 'crusade' to remove the 'inferior human beings' from power and put power in the hands of what he considered to be mini-Christs

History/Background: Jaya was born in the suburbs of San Francisco to Jorge and Lily Marx. Jorge abandoned Lily when he found out she was a mutant. He was part of underground militia group who were set on destroying mutants. He was killed in one of the militia raids.

Lily abandoned and confused found out she was pregnant with Jorge's child and went into hiding. Lily had the ability to see in the future. She knew that her life would be cut short, so she raised her daughter in an underground tunnel under the subway. She realized her daughter had mutant gifts as well.

She trained her the best she could until Jaya was eight years old. Lily went out to get some food and got caught up in a riot and was killed leaving eight year old Jaya to fend for herself.

Her mother was everything to her and now she was gone. Jaya lived a life of thievery in the streets of San Francisco. She scraped by and evaded the angry militias that were intent on destroying mutants. She also honed her powers while living in abandoned buildings and any other place she was hiding out in.

She never trusted anyone because she never met an honest person besides her mother. She earned money on the side for hacking jobs on computers for info which she became quite efficient in.

Jaya always remember the lessons her mother had taught her to survive. She also remembered her mother's good heart to any stranger she came across. It was hard for Jaya to be that way, but she wanted to strive to be more like her mother. She renamed herself RavenHawk because of her ability to shapeshift in to animals. The Raven Hawk is her preferred choice for covert operations. She wanted to make her mother proud by showing responsibility for her actions and helping others when needed. It would be a long journey for RavenHawk, but she knew that with courage and determination she can accomplish her goals.

Other Special Features: Wolf's incisors are very long and pronounced, matched with his eyes and hair it gives him an appearance not many "normal" people can handle, And which lead to him being nicknamed "Wolf". His left shoulder and arm to the bicep is covered in a flowing Celtic tattoo, with a wolfs head covering most of his shoulder.

Personality: Wolf is a quiet man given to introspection on most occasions, he has a very slanted sense of humour which has gotten him into trouble in the past. However this is balanced by his more animalistic urges, he is suspicious of strangers, and prefers to spend his time alone. On many occasions he has proved to have a hair trigger temper which has lead to him severely injuring several people he has been in confrontations with. However he is totally loyal to those who earn his trust and is brave to the point of recklessness.

History/Background: Wolf was lucky to be born into a loving family which didnt care about his differences, However soon after joining school he was bullied horribly leading his father to enroll him at a preeminent Kung Fu school at the age of 8. Wolf soon learned that thanks to his reflexes and agility he could progress farther and faster than his fellow students. This did however lead to jelousy from fellow students and several violent fights which he won convincingly.

Yet as he grew and his appearance became more pronounced he was more and more discriminated against, Which encouraged a bitter streak in him that reveals itself from time to time. After 17 years of constant practice under his mentor and teacher Wolf was a gifted and relatively balanced young man, until his master was attacked by an anti mutant gang who hated the few mutants he taught. He was ambushed and left to die in his school as it was set ablaze, Wolf didnt get there in time to save him. But he did get there in time to pick up his attackers trail.

Wolf hunted the men through the night following their scent and trail until he caught them, in a fit of vengeance and rage Wolf disabled or killed all seven of the young men. Leaving them lascerated and broken in a dark suburban street. His rage gone he made his way home through the shadows of the night, his family begged him to flee. That very night (minutes before the police came for him) he packed his backpack and left.

History:No one ever new but, Bobby "Iceman" Drake had a one-night stand with Olivia Shiflett when he was just becoming famous as the X-men's cool customer, he never came back in contact with her due to his superhero responsibilities, so he never new of his son Brandon Drake. Brandon grew up like any other kid,but he never knew of his true dad. Olivia remarried and now Brandon had a new father. One as far as he was concerned loved him. He figured if his real dad didnt come to see him then he really didnt care about him.
About the age of thirteen and fourteen, Brandon learned of his abilities, but the most supportive of his parents was his step-dad. He Helped Brandon understand that the special powers he had were a gift and not a curse. Instead of the fear everyone in the world was treating mutants with, he accpeted Brandon and helped him deal with trying to hide but not reject his gifts. An untimely car accident killed both Brandon's parents when he was 18. He then changed over the coarse of 2 years.

Brandon now travels looking for his real place, he doesnt now where he belongs but hopes that his powers may be of use for good OR evil.

Personality: Johan loves his music, but he loves his philosophy more. A true philosopher at heart, Johan always has a good read in his bag, accompanying his journal. Johan is very stoic, and quiet when need be, but can also step up and be a leader if necessary. Quite the academic, Johan views his mutant ability as a curse most of the time, though he has accepted it and vowed to use it for good use. Many times Johan caught cursing his great fighting ability and the ability he has to use his mind in ways others can only dream of. Johan is allied only to good, and what he believes in.

History/Background: Johan was born to a minister in America. He was always a free spirit, much to the dismay of his quiet father. Johan discovered his talent at a very early age, though he could only keep the secret for three days before his father found out. At the age of five, Johan was shipped away to a mutant school in Spain. It was at this small, unknown school in the Spanish mountains that Johan was taught to harness his amazing power. Johan excelled in all of the subjects taught at this school, and at the age of 14 felt as though he was ready to explore the world. He back-packed away from the school at in the dead of night, and was lost in the wilderness for 8 days. When he finally emerged in Barcelona, he lived on the street for six months before he could legally get a job. Johan started working at a book store and supported himself, virtually suppressing his ?curse.? At the age of 18, Johan decided to set out and see the world. He packed up his ?86 Volvo and started driving across Europe. It was on this trip that Johan realized that he had his curse for life, and at the least he could help other people with it. For 7 years, Johan has been roaming Spain and the rest of the world with a small band of mutants with similar interests. One day he went out to his post-box and saw an invitation from Xavier to come teach other mutants. Without thinking twice, Johan left everything he knew, and headed back to America.

Eyes: Lance's eyes typically are a very brilliant blue; although when his powers are in use at certain levels they have a tendancy to shift across the spectrum. The colors most often seen are very light blue / silver-blue (moderate power strain), white (heavy power strain), and pure white (no pupil) during extreme power strain.

Hair: Brown hair... rather typical honestly, his styles change rather often but usually Lance tries to keep his hair in either a short military style cut or a polar opposite grown out and pulled into a tail roughly the length of his shoulder-blades. In the event of the tail, he always will keep it tied with a trademark red strip of cloth.

Family: Lance's family do not know of his mutant abilities... due to the fact that as soon as he realized his unique abilities; he feigned enlistment in the military and has been bouncing from city to city, college to college and job to job.

Ability: Recoil is a mutant who's unique ability allows him to absorb energy (kinetic, heat, electric, sound, chemical, and radiation) and store it in his body for later use. By focusing on the stored energy, he can manipulate the forces at his disposal into concentrated blasts, short duration force fields (offensive and defensive), propulsion (flight/speed/leaping), limited enhanced regeneration, and generalized force manipulation (nudging things or people without a great deal of control: i.e. - knocking a book off a table)

Appearance: On a normal day, Lance can be seen roaming around the campus in a pair of black slacks, red t-shirt and one of many overshirts left unbuttoned. He tends to dress a little more business casual than his other peers. One might contribute this to his self-imposed unstable upbringing. On the other hand, On-Duty, Recoil's uniform is very functional. Black, fitted cargo pants, tightly laced black military style steel-toe boots, metallic red sleeveless gi top, a hip-pouch with various utility items to fuel his powers (concussion grenades, batteries, a taser, lighter, glow-sticks) and a black/red tinted pair of sunglasses along with a pair of armored gloves.

Other Special Features: Lance's anaotmy is easily his greatest downfall when using his powers. Since his power is mainly reactive... it usually involves him taking a thrashing before dealing one out. He attempts to compensate for that by constantly keeping energy stored in his body or aura at all times. This, sadly takes it toll on his health. Over time, the stored energy degrades and reacts like a poison to Lance's immune system, causing him to vomit blood, suffer from fevers, hallucinations, and fits of nightmares which prevent him from so much as sleeping for better than an hour at a time.

Personality: Lance usually is a very quiet and withdrawn person; content to work on his computer, practice his martial arts, study english lit. and psychology and further his perfection of his unique abilities. He sees his mutation as a curse, which is understandable in a purely psychological manner as up to this point all uses have required a sacrifice on his part... physical, mental, health, or otherwise just to enable him to "activate" his powers. He is very, very protective of his belongings, and even more so of those who have earned his trust. He has absolutly no problem what-so-ever blowing off a direct order or rule in order to see justice served in his own unique fashion.

Appearance: Wears a black leather jacket at all times.

Other Special Features: Only has three fingers (including an opposable thumb) on each hand, and only 2 toes, each longer than an ordinary human's, on each foot. Nighthunter also has a prehensile tail about 3 1/2 feet long, which can carry his own weight. His body is almost entirely covered with fine indigo-colored skin, making him so dark that he seems to blend into deep shadows. (Contrary to appearances, he does not literally turn invisible in deep shadow.) Nightcrawler also has pointed ears and pronounced fang-like canine teeth. His spine is more flexible than an ordinary human being's, allowing him to spend much of his time in a semi-crouching position without damaging his posture and enables him to perform contortionist-like feats. Nighthunter is also a superb athlete and an Olympic-class acrobat. He can do a standing high jump of about 8 feet. He is skilled at hand-to-hand combat and is a master at fencing, which he can even perform with his tail.


Personality: He is very cocky with his powers and sometimes uses them to play jokes. Even in times of peril he has a very lighthearted attitude. Although he is cocky, he still works well with other members of the X-Men.

Weapons: Nothing but his tail. He also specializes in hand to hand combat.

History/Background: Hans Wagner was born to Mutant Kurt Wagner and his human wife Karen Wagner. He was raised in Germany by his mother mostly by his mother, while his father, known as the Nightcrawler, worked as the leader of Excalibur. When Hans turned 13 he discovered he had the same power of self-teleportation that his father did. His father then helped him develop his power even more, whenever he was at home. But when Hans was 18, his father was killed by an unknown mutant. Hans then joined the X-Men, hoping that by being around Professor X's son he will discover the identity of his father's killer...

History/Background: He remembers little about his past, and doubts he ever will remember it. The first memory he has is of his first day at the Munich Circus. He and another mutant by the name of ?The Incredible Nightcrawler? both played Demon?s in the circus act?and when he didn?t perform correctly, in practice or not, Hermes was severely beaten, leading to his scarred figure. After what he assumes was 10 years in the circus?at what he be ivies was age 19 (Really 20) he ran?or rather flew away from the circus. But, he found out that he wasn?t welcomed in this world. He was what people thought was a Demon.
He eventually made it stateside, hiding in libraries and train stations for a year?studying mythology and looking for religion. He didn?t find the latter, but he found a name. Hermes?Greek messenger god, gift of flight, gift of tongues, had Hermes been able to shrink things; he would have been the re-incarnation.
At 23, Hermes was one of NYC?s top crime fighters, and found by the X-men that very year. He was eventually re-united with his old friend Kurt, but they went their separate ways.
More recently, Hermes flew home to Germany, in search of more mutants, and possible connections to Nightcrawler. (It is believed that the two could have been brothers.) Most of the X-men gone now, Hermes is still loyal to the New Prof. X, and the new breed of mutants, and is one of the more trusted when sent on assignments, due to his years of service?Hermes is "going out with" Thera...

Ability: When his anger flares, he grows in size, his strength doubling (like the Hulk, only not green). He is also less affected by pain. Due to a split personality, he becomes more agressive and uncontrolled while transformed.

Appearance: Slightly pale; Fit, but not muscluar; He usually wears dark blue jeans, a plain white t-shirt, tenis shoes, and a black zippered jacket with a hood.

Other Special Features: He developed a split personality as a kid named Ogre. He constantly hears him and can talk back to him (like Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde). His anger triggers the switch between the two personalities, as well as his transformation.

Personality: He's shy to a fault, usually very quiet and reserved. He's not really a loner, but prefers to stay out of the action. When around those he knows, he can be fairly humorous. He's kind and humble, and tries to avoid conflict at all costs, so as to keep his "other half" in check. Ogre is the complete opposite. He's violent, mean, and cocky.

History/Background: Greg Balis started out as a normal kid. At the age of five, he claimed he'd met a new friend named Ogre, who was actually an imaginary friend he'd made up. As he grew older, instead of fading away, Ogre became more real and started telling him to do hurtful things to his classmates. When he dicided not to one day, Ogre turned on him and caused him to break his arm. He was eleven at the time.

His father found out about the situation and got mad him for hurting himself over someone who wasn't real. This made Greg angry and triggered his first transformation. He almost killed his father that day. Ogre also realized that when he transformed, he could control Greg's body. He took advantage of this and purposely tried to make Greg angry so he could transform and be "free", as he called it.

When Greg's parents found out about the Xavier Institute a year later, they sent him there and found out that Greg had a split personality that was blown out of perportion by his mutation. Since the two minds were so opposite, when Greg's more aggressive nature came out, Ogre's mind would take over until he had calmed down.

After six years, he had finally learned how to somewhat control his "other half", ignoring the insestant taunting and keeping his feelings in check. He has a few friends, but not many due to his fear of hurting someone if he became angry.

History/Background: Born in Florida was always fascinated by fire and sharp metal . One day his house was burned down by an arsonist and his whole family was killed he should?ve been killed too but somehow was alive when the firemen came and put out the fire he was discovered but they looked disgusted by him and in his rage he slew all 7 of them with Lava that seemingly came from his hands.

Went to find the arsonist with his new ability and easily located the man who turned out to be a fire bearing mutant as well. Kevin killed him with his arms which he could turn into metal. Amazed by his new ability went wondering in the forest when he found himself cornered by another mutant who was a friend of the arsonist and had heard of his death. Kevin tried using fire but it was no use against the water wielding mutant. Sensing his danger he called upon all his strength and ripped two wooden stakes from a nearby tree at speared the mutant through the heart. Kevin later bought two swords (katanas)

Donning the name Diabolos because of his abilities Kevin tried to find a way to control himself. He went to the Institute where he became one of the X-Men.

For all the new gamers who've already spoken with me and have their characters approved, go ahead and post them. Ability: Blackjack has a limited precognitive ability, only up to at most five minutes. He once tried to really focus and see farther ahead, but nearly had a brain hemmorhage. The farther ahead he sees, the more his head seems to hurt. This ability makes him seem very lucky to others, explaining his name. Blackjack also has the optic blast power that unlike Cyclops, can only be contained by blue saphire, not ruby.He also has a weakness for the ladies. He may even fall for a bad girl if he is so blinded by his feelings for them.

Appearance: Pretty muscular and chiseled fellow. when he isn't doing his superhero thing, he is a pretty t-shirt and jeans type of guy. He is a southern boy and always wears his cowboy boots and his blue saphire quartz shades, occasionally a cowboy hat. In uniform, he wears a tight under armor-like shirt under his midnight blue and gold leather X-Men jacket. with matching pants, and of course, his blue visor.

Other Special Features: Quite athletic, fast. in a NFL player way. Can play guitar and sing (helps with the ladies).

Personality: You typical easygoing southern boy. Loves to party, have fun. But, with his southern boy tendencies comes a bit of a temper if you push him too far. Also loves Fast cars, big trucks, and sports. Practical joker, would be a pain in the neck for John Storm II. Loves the ladies. Oh, and did I mention love to have fun?

History/Background: Bo Black was born in Memphis Tennessee. The son of a former collegiate All-American Football player Robert "Bob" Black. His Mother is a retired country singer Marybeth Black. He was an athlete from a young age. His father got him into football. Bo knew early on that he was lucky, he was the best quarterback anyone had ever seen considering he colud always see what the defense was going to do before it happened. And he had never lost a game. His father noticed it too, but figured it was just good genes.
This continued until high school. During his Senior year, in the State Championship. The game was tied in the fourth quarter, and Bo was throwing the game-winning pass. As he threw, he emitted a blast from his eyes that hit his tight end in the chest, knocking him out, not killing him. But, as Bo's luck would have it, the wide receiver was right there to make the catch. It was then that he and his family realized that their son was "special" and didn't allow their son to continue in football, fearing that his new power could get someone hurt. Seeing now that their son had these extraordinary gifts, they did some hunting to find a place where "mutants" where welcomed. With a few connections they contacted John Storm II and had him put into the Xavier Institute so he could learn to use his gifts for the good of the world.

Ability: Jeff can convert his matter to a series of electrical impulses, allowing him to travel via practically any sort of cable, phone line, power cords etc. Also can enter computers, cell phones, PDAs, Game boys, etc. and mess with them. He can also enter people's nervous systems, but he doesn't like to because the one time he tried it, the target ended in a coma for life.

Appearance: Jeff can usually be found wearing a nerdy video game shirt, especially Halo, Mario, and Zelda, an unbuttoned shirt, and comfortable pants usually with a chain wallet.

Weapons: His time at the Xavier Academy has made Jeff an adequate hand-to-hand combatant

Personality: A bit of an introvert. Tries to be a people person, but Jeff isn't practiced at the fine art of conversation

History/Background: From a young age, Jeff was interested in computers and computer games. By 10 he was already handling most of the computer stuff for his family, from programming the VCR to installing a CD/DVD burner. At 13, he accidentally broke up his body after a particularly aggravating, hack-laden session of Counter Strike, he found himself inside his computer.

For some, this would be a daunting experience, but with his potential for tinkering, Jeff found this fascinating. He wasn't afraid at all, even when he couldn't find a way out for almost a week. Once he got out of his computer, he actually managed to convince his parents of his story (they thought he ran away or was kidnapped or something). Not long afterwards, he was approached to attend the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning, an offer which he gladly accepted.

Ability: Armageddon, like his predecessor, possesses superhuman strength which he can augment by psionically drawing on outside energy sources. Armageddon can alter the atomic structure of his body at will in order to change his form. He can even increase his size by taking on additional mass from a presumably extra-dimensional source. Through his ability to alter his form, Armageddon can give himself virtually any superhuman physical power. Also like his predecessor, Armageddonâ??s "costume" is actually part of his body, and he can psionically alter its appearance at will. He can levitate himself telekinetically.

Other Special Features: Though almost identical, Armageddon is not as experienced with his powers. Thus is somewhat weaker in his usage of them. This will change with time though, if Apocalypse is absent for an extended period of time.

Personality: Already he harbored thoughts of domination, of ruling at least a country. He is a maniacal genius at this point. He is a great strategist and will do anything to fulfill the destiny given to him.

Weapons: HE is a weapon.

History/Background: Born Jonathan Gabriel Archer, Armageddon grew up in the mean streets of New York City. His parents were poor and he was forced to make his own on the streets. That was until his parents were both slain in a drive by shooting performed by a rival gang. He, the intended target, had been out that night. The anger he felt at this awakened his mutant power, telekinesis, and he sought out revenge against all who had ever harmed his family. This would not come to fruition, at that moment, though. For he was being watched by a being of Cosmic Powers.

It had already been 3 years since the galaxy had said goodbye to Apocalypse. Apocalypse, long since an acquaintance of The Watcher, had been offered a trip by the Cosmic Entity. Apocalypse would be sent throughout the galaxies and even the universes, if he so desired. He would be an entity much like The Watcher, and thus could not interact or interfere with the trials of each place he came too. He was being offered the chance to accumulate knowledge of cultures vastly different from the ones he already knew. Knowing that dominating Earth could always wait, he took The Watcher up on the offer and left for an undisclosed period of time.

The loss of such evil naturally drew the eyes of Lord Chaos and Master Order. The Earth universe was off balance. Good had gained a substantial advantage over evil, and the absence threatened to tear the universes apart. Together, the two entrusted their agent The In-Betweener to create a new champion of Evil. A new Apocalypse. He was to find a being with a blackened heart who already possessed substantial mutant powers and take them to his realm. If the energy absorbed is non-mutant, her body transforms it into kinetic energy that can be used to charge up objects. If it is mutant energy, she can use whatever powers they have plus retains their memories and other skills, just like her mother. She can also shapeshift into anyone she has touched (she has not mastered this and can only do it right after touching someone), and use their powers for a time. Abillity to fly, superstrength, hair and eyes change color with extreme changes in mood.

Appearance: Is usually in tight jeans or a skirt with some sort of green shirt and either her mother's brown flight jacket or her father's trenchcoat. She wears black leather gloves with detachable fingertips.

Other Special Features: Her parents had her trained in gymnastics and other forms of fighting art (even training in ninjitsu with Betsy Braddock for a time) and she carries a deck of playing cards much like her father. Drives a green Viper.

Personality: Impulsive and impatient. Meditates daily to keep control of her powers so she doesnt suck out energy at random. Can be sarcastic or sweet depending on her mood. Can be seductive and has her father's ability to sweet talk anyone. Friendly and fun loving, is always up for a good time.

History/Background: Over time, Rogue and Remy left the X-Men to start their own life together. Rogue got into contact with a corporation called Fenris and they provided her with a special suit that nullified her powers. She wore it constantly and she and Remy eventually married. They had Thera (whose name means "Wild and untamed") and lived happily in Louisiana with Remy's family. Her parents discouraged her from joining the life of the theives and for the most part she obeyed. They had her trained in fighting and gymnastics for flexibility, assuming she would have mutant powers. She spent every summer from age of 9 to 16 training with Betsy Braddock (aka Psylocke) to learn Ninjitsu. Her powers bloomed late and manifested when she was 16 and accidently absorbed some of Betsy when she was frustrated during sparring. Her parents sent her to the Xavier Institute where she has lived since. Two years ago her grandfather Jean Luc LeBeau was taken ill so she left the Institute to stay with her family and help take care of her grandfather. He got better so she returned to the Institute hoping to get a job teaching and rejoin the X-Men.

Ability:-Molecular transfusion- Can bond two objects together through energy, generally used for her katana's. No harm can be caused through using it.
-Sheets of electricity rush from her katana's during a slash or swipe in combat. These potentially increase length and look like transluent sheets of burnt yellow. Imagine the air that would blow from the tip of blade, but coloured.
-Negative impulses can be sent from her hands and body (think girly in Fantastic Four but not the effects) which contain extreme cell reversal bioweapons, which degenerate cells into decay and death. The impulses rush from her body in a large sweep of ghostly appearance and can reach up to ten to fifteen metres.

Base of Operations: The Xavier Institute (Was born in Belfast, Ireland and mostly raised in Toronto, Ontario)

Ability: She's tied into plant life. She can control plants around her to a limited degree, and even assume aspects of plants (strong bark armour, thorns for spikes, vines to tangle or assist people). Taking on these aspects tires her out immensely, though, part of what she's working on at Xaviers. After her year in "exile" as part of the earth, she has much more power than she ever had before. She's just unaware of it right now.

Appearance: Thin and athletic (think a gymnasts build), Rowan tends to dress a bit like an indie rocker (band shirts, slightly ratty jeans, a pair of old comfortable Converse Allstars in black).

Other Special Features: A former gymnast.

Personality: Rowan is a joyous, friendly person. She enjoys having fun and tries to make everyone feel welcome. She has a bit of a wild streak. Underneath it all, she can be sad, but she doesn't tend to let that aspect of her personality show. On the rare occasion when she gets angry, her Irish accent (which is usually unnoticable from growing up in North America) tends to reassert itself.

History/Background: Born in Belfast as the youngest of two children, Rowan lead a simple existance with her parents, David & Sandra and older brother Duane. Or as simple as possible growing up in a city where violence was a common occurance. Her father was a butcher, and her mother raised Duane and her. Naturally like all families they had their disagreements, but all in all, they were happy from the day Rowan was born to the gunman's bullet ended it.
Rowan's father had taken the family out to the cinema. Business had been improving and David had taken them all out to celebrate. Unfortunately, fate can work in tragic ways. Going home, the family was caught in a fire fight between the IRA and British troops, and Rowan's parents were accidentally killed.
The children were sent to live with their aunt, Moira, in Canada. Young Rowan was the most visible affected by the tragedy. She stopped speaking for almost a year afterwards. She only found solace playing in her aunt's garden. Moira was considering taking her for therapy when she seemed to come out of her depression on her own (she's theorized since that it was the start of her powers manifesting, and she was connecting to the energy alive in the plants around her, realizing part of her parents was still alive).
After coming out of her shell, she truly blossomed (no pun intended) into an active, caring young woman. She did well in school, and took up gymnastics, and even won some local competitions. She still spent a lot of time in the garden, and was secretly realizing she had a much stronger connection with the plants around her, that she could affect them and vice versa. She worked on this all through elementary and high school.
Unlike many, she's lived a relatively normal life. She completed high school and went off to university on a gymnastic scholorship, majoring in english and literature. When she was 21, she was approached by Erik Xavier, but felt she wasn't ready to join the institute. Still, she felt it was time to reveal her secret to her family and, unlike many mutants, was met with compassion from her aunt and brother.
In the past 5 years she's matured and feels ready to take on the reponsibility a twist of genetic fate placed with her. She decided to join the institute, both to learn and to offer her services as a librarian and part time phys ed teacher, only to mysteriously disappear the evening of her first day at the Institut
