Oh, hell no. x.x;
I love how in the movie the Separatist droids are actually menacing and ruthless, something we haven't seen in the series except with the Commando droids.
I like this as well. The battle droids are best when they are silent. If only they had stayed silent the entire movie, granted I laugh at some of their humor.
The Droid Gunships were pretty ruthless and effective.
Still, even silent battle droids can't make up for that wormy and loathsome CIS general. I completely forget his name, but he was annoying.
Wasn't that his name? Yeah that general was a waste of skin and some of the worst voicing in all TCW. Really that scene of Obi-wan having tea with him or whatever really is like a Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam homage. I almost expect Obi to ask him; "One lump or two lumps?" get a big mallet out and give him a couple lumps on the head.
I loved Loathsom.
I still don't get why.
While the movie has it's moments, it feels a bit uneven to me and the pace isn't all that great; at times it even gets a bit dull. They introduce the main story of Jabba's son getting kidnapped and then we have to go through the Christophsis battle before getting back to the main story after forty or so minutes. It's pretty easy to see that it's basically a bunch of episodes strung together and I just think they should have done a proper movie and have it be more focused. It's definitely an okay movie, but it does not really do the following series much justice (the first season was a clear improvement and a step in the right direction).
I like the movie overall, but Ahsoka and Rotta are both quite annoying in it.
I could not stand Ziro. He seemed to be designed by some homophobe who wanted to stereotype drag queens.
Sometimes (!) a spoofed stereotype can be funny if played for fun and not in a spirit of meanness, which is how I took it. YMMV. I liked Ziro, actually. That is essentially the point of caricature - blatant exaggeration. Ziro is unapologetically himself.
I thought the movie was pretty good. It had a lot of potential, especially the fact that Jabba was present as a bridge to the OT. I though the editing, animaton and music were all excellent. Even the story was pretty engaging. I think the goofy comedy and childish tone was what ultimately killed the movie. There was no clear target audience: Kids were being pandered to by Ahsoka and the battle droids while clones were being shot in the face to get adult attention. But then again, that's been a problem since the beginning.
Might have been better if Bib Fortuna appeared.
I don't even get why this place is reviewing the TCW film again...
This is the 23424243rd time
I got quite a few requests to do another movie review thread so... here we are. Take it or leave it.
I'll leave it and ask for my money back because it's quite a crappy film.
Did you pay for it?
When I originally saw it.
I rented it on DVD the first time I saw it, never saw it at a cinema (which I am sort of glad I didn't).
Yep, I got the blu-ray.
My grade hasn't changed. This movie still blows.
? Just unlock and use the original? I know a lot of the old threads are locked because of the old "lock unactive threads" feature the past forum had, but that is easily fixed by PMing a mod to unlock. (Seerow.. you're a mod. You can unlock threads, imagine that! )
Come on people! Use the search engine before making new threads! We even have a thread index!
(Hell, we even already had a Index thread, but another one of those was made, too!
Merged threads: grade the movie + discuss the movie
Poll was reset, but the old votes still show up in the results...
That's stupid man. You should've just reopened the previous thread.
Yeah, poll ruined.
I was in favor of a new thread for this.
I wanted to see current opinions, not opinions from 18 months ago.
