Themed Days

This Sunday, In honor of the Sunday's Usually Pretty Exciting Rivalry Between Occasional Winners and Losers, we are having a "Chick Day" theme, where all of the squads must have 50% or more female characters. In the past, we have done themes like:

all-melee day
Tile Wars Day
Huge day (all squads must have at least 1 huge)
Scenario days
Characters under 15 pts only day (150 pt)
Characters over 30 point only day (300 pt)
Movie day (all characters must be from the same movie.)

What other themed days have you guys done? It would be nice to have a library/list of different events to do that others can try out.

I know the Nebraska people have done the Ironman tournament and the Team tournament.

 

Chicks Day went well today. Everyone had fun.

Also forgot to mention we had "Boom Day" a few weeks ago, where 50% of your squad had to have Missiles, Flamethrower, Grenades, or Self Destruct.

In 2 weeks, to celebrate Valentine's Day, we're having "Couples Day." You must have a Star Wars couple in your squad (Han/Leia, Luke/Mara, Jaina/Jagged, Revan/Bastila, etc). You are allowed to break faction rules for one half of the couple, but the rest of the squad must be legal. I'm looking forward to bringing Luke, Jedi Master into an Empire squad...

We also had LUKE and VADER days, everyone had to have one in their squad.

I'm working on a new republic Luke with Imp Mara squad along with Talon.

 

I forgot about Luke and Vader days. Those were fun too. It's always cool to see what sorts of creative ways people attack theme days.

Talon married Shada Dakul, who was a MSG. And Luke has kissed the first 4 women in the squad.

I'm bringing "Spies Like Us" this weekend. Every Rebel or Fringe piece that has Spy, Agent, or Scout in its name.

 

So do I need to build an ewok squad this week so we can see who would win.

 

Go for it! I have a couple non-Gungans in there as well, just so you know. If you want/need to borrow any Ewoks let us know.

 

I dunno, we really don't have that many to loan out. Only about 100 or so...

 

I have 23 now so I think I'm good.

 

How about ground-support tech battles?
Ugnaughts vs Verpine techs?
Astromechs vs protocol droids? (any non-combat droid can apply)
Bith and Duros vs Talz and Chandra-fan? (ok, any goofy alien that had less than 10-seconds of screen time, preferablly in a crowd scene like the Cantina)

 

Only if we do 100pt armies.
My ewok/rebel army is 28 pieces, I hope Dajuan has over 20 as well.
I still don't think we'll get more than 3 rounds in the time limit.

Attack of the Clones
Everyone gets assigned a character, and must use as many variants of that character as possible
There must be about a dozen different Vaders, nearly that many of Luke, Leia, Han, ObiWan, and so on. Bonus points for multiple Gen Veers and other tiertiary characters (anyone who got a name mentioned, but not much else)
